I think the flowmaster is a bit too pricey for what effect you are going to get. I would be interested to hear it though, I am sure it is a quality piece.

I have an SE-i, and the "stock" muffler I've used for years is the Bosal. It has the twin tips and has a nice sound, but nothing like the Flowmaster or the fart cans. I went to Midas and bought two of the chrome exhaust tips to fit on the ends of the outlet pipes...they fit perfectly, and can be reused on the next muffler.
The Bosal isn't cheap, count on somewhere close to $150 by the time it gets to you, plus more for the Midas tips. The Bosal's I've had have lasted almost exactly 50k miles each.
My son has a '98 Accord 4 cyl with the Flowmaster. Even at age 17, he's gotten tired of the "deep droning" of it.
Regretfully, I note that the Bosal site does not list any replacements for the SE-i 4 doors, only the coupes. The Majestic Honda site still lists the 4 door replacement muffer, but I'll have to call them tomorrow and make sure that it's the one with the twin outlet pipes. It's also pricey at $135 plus $17 shipping plus the $5 pull charge...$157 at my door. I may have no other choice.
I'm going to try to call the individual Bosal warehouses tomorrow too, maybe they have one on a shelf somewhere.
I called my friendly local Honda dealer, and for only $195 they'll hand me a new muffler across the parts counter. Gulp. Went to one of the auto parts stores - not Autozone or the other one - they have the SE-i replacement pipe/muffler at about $190. It's not the welded assembly like original. It comes with a lifetime warranty if you don't lose your receipt. Course my Bosal had that same lifetime warranty, but I can't find the receipt, and the point is probably moot if they don't make the piece any more.
the flowmasters are to wide to tuck back in under the body and always look ot of place.
Bosal mufflers? I searched for stock replacemtn sei mufflers on sites and couldnt find a "bosal" on i dunno i might be doin somein wrong, is there a site i could get one from that yall know of?
i would get a magnaflow like i said...i picked mine up for like 53 shipped of egay...it has lasted close to 3 months now...with 1k miles....sounds a bit loud...but it has a nice tone to it.

I prefer to have the muffler installed closer to the header, for tuning purposes.
2" collector ---> Muffler ---> Long Resonator ---> Reducer ---> 2.25" pipe ---> Tip.
IN/OUT diameters of the Muffler and Res are not an issue to me as long as the muffler is installed in the right place and flows enough CFM. The exhaust pipe after the res and muffler should be larger then the collector diameter, so thats how I get the 2.25"
I've found the header collector should be 1.8" - 2.1" diameter, 2.0" is the closest match.
This is to keep up velocity and the muffler installed right after the header is as large as possible to simulate an open header collector, giving a tuned returning suction wave, assuming you tuned your header in the first place.
Installing a Cat will be tricky but using one is good to stay legal and for your health, and SMSP (sp?) is supposed to flow well and is very compact.

Remember that mufflers have ranges, some will work well with certain engines at different rpms; like low, high, or cruising rpm, but not all three. Only way to quiet all three is install some active electronic silencer.

Well as some of you guys might of have seen, im not really lookin for performance much as of right now. I am going more for a blingy look. I just want something that looks a little aftermarket, quiet, but not too rice looking. Even if its something i can use from another car, thats cool with me. Let me know what you guys think are some of the best sounding/quietest mufflers out there.

how about just a regular muffler with a nice tip on it :D
to quiet things down you would need a resonator and a aftermarket muffler.

I had the same one on my accord. It doesn't really do anything for performance gains unless you enlarge the rest of the exhaust piping ( which is what i did to 2 1/4" ) but it does have a pretty good sound and does look pretty stock.
I think my stock muffler was plugged a little . when I shook it, i hear a mess floating around in it. Anyway I can tell that I have a little more power but probably because the stock broken one was robbing me.
Shopping around for mufflers I want, and I was wondering if any of you guys around here are using the vibrant streetpower or anything of the like and how does it sound? I really dont want some dumb riced-out exhaust, but I really do want the deep exhaust note. Any ideas? Thanks :thumbup:

My Flowmaster 60 series sounds increadible, but not too Ricey.
I still love how mine sounded, 2" all the way back to a dynomax super turbo muffler ;)
i like how pico looks...it has that stock but sporty look...
Anyone here know what the magnaflow mufflers sound like on the 3gs I was looking at replacing the muffler but not sure. Any opinions on good mufflers let me know.
