Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
right, so you drive your ass to CT, and don't reach out to us CT guys for a mini-meet in the process?
Just one question about the SVX. Is there a manny trans that you can bolt to it, or you stuck with the SVX curse of the auto as all the US guys were? Did you just swap the hub, or the whole knuckle assy?

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
hope you not stickin a scobbies engine init.
they are a wide motor.
f/r wit an s2k motor. can you say HELL YEAH
just for future reference, the scoobie rear diff is a nissan r180 for non turbo motors and r200 for wrx and sti. unless nissan sold fuji heavy industries.
that gives you from s12 silvia to r34 gtr skyline diffs to chose from

I'm not sure, but I don't think you have your info correct..
I can understand they may have same internals or what not.. But as far as swapability, i don't think so.. Otherwise alot more guys I know would have crazy swaps, and thats just not the case..
......
......
......
matter fact I just did a quick search on rb, sr, ka, vg, vq powered subarus and I turn up nothing..
I'm not tryin to be an ass here, or be big headed.. But I know quite a bit about the chunk of metal known as the automobile.. Quite a few different kinds too...
lol.. I been waitin to bring this up

that was my first post on these boards.. first post on any boards... I was oblivious..
Since then I've built more motors then I can count, done about 12 swaps(honda, nissan, subaru), More custom exhaust jobs then I can count, built one-off custom parts...
Im a ASE cerified cylinder head machinist and soon to be master machinist...
also workin on master tech..
Not tryin to brag.. Just sayin I know a little about alot..
Back when I first started tho.. lol.. I knew how to change oil.. That was it..
I owe what I know, to this site... Not sayin I got all my info from here.. Thats certainly not the case.. But this site got the ball rolling.. Or better yet, my first 3g, the one under the knife right now, is the one that got the ball rolling, after a $1200 pepboys bill, lol... Best thing that could happen to me..
btw.. yes the suby engine is going in and it will fit np...
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
I am a huge sabaru fan and a mitsubishi fan just because of AWD but if i get the balls to do this ever im gonna swap some Evo parts if it would fit, i doubt i ever will. but jesus you guys are bringing accords up there in the world! good luck on the AWD and the RWD projects im excited.
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
Well guy's.. Project HondaSTI is still goin on.. but things have slowed to a very very slow pace..
I was laid off Dec.12.. So funds is none.. Haven't had great luck finding a job. So I was puttin in a ton of work on the car.. But I ran outta gas in the welder and don't know when I'll be able to refill it..
I was keepin this project super hush hush from alot of people.. but I decided, i'll post up some pics for yall..
But there's still plenty of work to be done without the welder.. Grinding, Cleanin, purdifyin..
I'm not grindin all the welds to perfection.. Matter of fact, I'm only grinding whats necessary.. I've built it up good and strong and I don't want to degrade the integrity by making it look "pretty".. Most of it will be covered in primer and paint/undercoating anywayz..
My accord can now have the entire rear end from a 93-04 subaru impreza (Models: Brighton, L, 2.5RS, WRX, STI{JDM 02-04})
As it sits now.. I could (if I wanted to) drop it on the ground now.. But I decided to take everything off, to finish stuff up.. I gotta box in the trailing arm mounts, add extra support to the main sub-frame mount points, and rebuild the trunk area where the spare wheel well was removed.
K.. Enough chit chat.. Lemme fill you in with some pics...
Here's how she sat when I first moved to MA..

Mid to End of December
Front differential X-member mounts(finished) and trailing arm mounts(tacked)

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...DSC_000195.jpg
The tops of the front diff sub frame mounts, all boxed up too
These are not crutial structual welds so the surface was not prepped properly and the welds look horrid.. But it's closed up and thats all that matters..

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...DSC_000197.jpg
And the top of the front diff sub frame, where I had to cut a relief..
