i believe they are etched, so you could read the reliefs. but yes i agree, probably best just to leave it alone. tight tolerences on things like cam gears ya know. :)

i wasnt aware you can mask off little ticks perfectly since alot of them are less then a millimeter wide and maybe 3 millimeters long
