2.5-3 inches??????? thats some drop. Read up here https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11093 and here https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7856
Here are some springs that will lower about 2.25in. here:
http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2D0102%2DSPRX
or the exact ones Zero mentioned for 40 bucks less http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2432613970
But I don't know anything about these, so as my lil girl used to say ~shrugs~ no me know
yeah i know...but the roads around here are perfect...no potholes or nothing...my only concern is speedbumps...Quote:

I have Speed tech 2" but havent put them on yet, the person I bought them from seemed to like them with Koni's in front and Tokico in back. You might wanna enter the name in a search and see if anyone has them or what they think
If you're not afraid to spend about $600.00, a good setup is Tokico Gas Struts and Eibach Sportline Springs. They are an easy install for our cars, but a bit pricy. You really notice the difference though so I think the money was well worth it.
hmmm....don't know about 600...maybe 300 MAX...
No no no...tokicos are NOT the way to go, unless you use the softest lowering springs made : h&r or neuspeeds (only 1.5 inch drop). Even with that setup, the tokicos are still unable to adequately control the front end though the back end is fine. Also, the sportline springs are not good either as their rear springs rates are incredibly weak. I would very strongly recommend against that setup. It will be wasted money for you.
If you want to go that low, your best bet would be coilovers, or, if you want, you can use the spring springs (2.25 inch drop) with either revalved bilsteins or koni reds (which, as you may/should have noticed, are gone). Whatever you do, you really should get one of those two struts or else your ride will be bouncy and could very easily be scary at the limit, esp. if the road you're on has a few bumps in it that will unsettle the car.
Also consider that once you go below 1.5 inches of lowering you will need to take care of the negative camber. This can be done through either modified 2g (84-87) prelude control arms or through camber kits, which are pretty expensive. The front end will def. need some kind of camber adjustment but you *might* be able to pull off no camber kits in the back.
Lowering cheaply is not the way to go however. The cheapest way to do this, buying all new parts would be about $240 for the tokico struts and another $140 or so for either the neuspeed or h&r springs. This will only get you a 1.5 inch drop, but your camber problems will be negligble. Note, however, that this is not the ideal setup: you should try and get either konis or revalved bilsteins for the front so you have no bounce.
Alex
ah thanks...so you think the 2.5 3 inch is too much? i could do the 1.5, i forgot about negative camber! it's more about ride quality than looks for me....
i'm looking around this suspension thread...are drop zones any good?
The coilovers are INCREDIBLY stif...you will HAVE to have the good struts then. Seriously, if you're on a tight budget, you should go with the H&R/Tokico setup (konis in the front if you can find them). Either that or save up. but always, always, always : Do it right the first time!!
Alex
aight, i'm looking for them right now...(yes i am on a budget..)
is 1.5 an ok drop...i really wanted it to sit...but i didn't want to go bags...
h&r springs and tokico shocks correct?
Try to get either konis or revalved bilstiens for the front (or else it will bounce esp. at freeway speeds when you hit goodsized bumps) but if you're ok with that then yes. It's not a bad setup and handles very well, esp. in comparison to stock. And for springs, either neuspeed or h&rs work fine; they have the same springs rates.
Alex
thanks for being such a help dude....i'm proibly gonna go h&r springs tokico shocks all the way around...
No prob. That's what I'm here for. Do look at getting better front struts though. Do it right the first time; it's waaaay cheaper that way.
Alex
they quit making the koni's right?
yeah they did...try to find a used set if anything or try to pick up a set of revlaved bilstiens<--Those are expensive. Cheapest route is tokicos but you kinda get what you pay for. Like I said, it's kinda bouncy up front.
Alex
it says on bilstiens website they sell them at autozone...
You can't just use those..you would have to send them back to bilstein to have them revalved so they're stiffer. I know it's kinda spendy but I don't know exact prices.
Alex
yeah, i'm gonna go with the bilstein's in the front..i don't want mad bounce......
should i go bilstein's all the way around with the h&r springs?
You could. I don't know anything about bilstiens...talk to Jim, Bobafett or maybe Goldyaccord (there are others but these are the guys I know). Good Luck!
Alex
my suspension is shot all around, so i figured, if i was gonna shell out, i might as well go the distance, but...
now that I have read all of these suspension threads, where are the threads about what wheels and tires you can still fit on the car once you’ve lowered it?
i have been fantasizing about dropping it 2.25 and putting 17x7 rims on it...
thanks!
You can do that no problem, as long as the offset on your wheels is at leat 40mm.Quote:

I don’t need to fantasize about women...
women I have... money I don’t...
so I am left to fantasizing about the things I would do if I had money...
dude, i'm gonna get 16's..
to drop 2.25 i have found "sprint" and Otto." are there any others? and does anybody know which is best?
read above dude, h&r/tokico springs, bilstein shocks...
That setup only drop 1.5 inches...he wants 2.25.
Alex
yeah....are they the only ones who drop that low?
man you should look around in the accord pics section and see other people's drop and then see if you like theirs. Then you can figure what drop height you would like.
I dont think youre gonna feel right if you say you want it to 'sit' and then you only get 1.5" lowering springs..
think before you buy......
yeah, i wanted like a 2.5, but i'm trying to find one that rides good as well
when I lower my car it's gonne be H&R's with revalved bilsteins. This will be over winter when I get these parts though, did someone say I need to worry about camber with a 1.5" drop?
Well, unless your really picky, you don't have to worry about drops of 1.5" or less. I didn't to a thing to my camber and I didn't have any uneven tire wear. In fact, I had the most EVEN tire wear of any FWD car I'd ever owner previously. Just can't see spending a dime on camber for 1.5" or less drops.Quote:

I went and had an alignment and I did have more negative camber than factory spec in one or two of my wheels (about 2 degrees in one and 1.7 or so in another, if i remember correctly). It's not worth it to me to fix it though. The guy at the alignment shop said it's more important to have the toe right for tire wear than camber (dunno if this is true or not, but that's what he said). They wanted 660 dollars to fix the camber with camber kits!!!
Alex
I had to get a camber kit with my 1.5 inch drop, I was 2.5 degrees off each wheel. That's because I have 17 inch rooms too.
-2.5:huh: what was it before the drop?
I have a cheap well basicly free way to lower your car just take the coils out and cut off a coil at a time till you get it the hight you want it. This is just a temporary way to lower you car if you are on a slim budget.
i'm not on THAT slim of a budget...
