Lowering without being too low.

Ok, here's my car

as you can tell, it needs lowered, bad.
But here's my problem, my front bumper

on flat ground it's less than 7" from the ground and I have problems with scraping it all the time. I want to lower my car though to get rid of the wheels gap. I can't close up the gap anymore right now by buying bigger wheels/tires due to funds, so it's time to lower. What would you guy suggest to lower this bish and still be driveable. I live in a small country town, so the roads aren't too friendly around here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

And what size are your tires?

Some of them it does. One curb that I'm guessing was 6 1/2" high just barely cleared, another one I would have hit if I didn't stop before it.
My tires are 205/40R16s

Nah just slamm it low as she can go and deal with the bumper repairs, itll look sick, lower it till the sills are 100mm off the ground :-)

Ah I thought the tire size was wrong, part of why the car is crying so much to me lowered is on account of your tire's. Their shorter than the OEM tire height and magnifing the tire to wheel gap. So when your tire's need to be replaced get the correct size or 205/45-16, that'll close the gap a smidge.

For a setup I'd recommend a 1.5" drop on H&R's or Neuspeed springs, which ever one you can get cheaper. They are the softest spring you can get for the 3g and if your not willing to see if you can grab the last front Koni's from tirerack. You can run tokico's and not have a ton of bounce, though you will have some bounce in the front. Alex, aka accord86lxi is running that setup. Strangely enough if you were to try just a 1" drop on Eibach prokits, Tokico 1" drop springs or the Suspension Techniques 1" drop springs, they all accutally really stiff and your ride and drive quality will be worse than the H&R's with their 1.5" drop. If you do go lower than 1.5" your getting into much stiffer springs again, so do consider if you'd be willing to invest in much better struts to get the ride decent or not.

Now i was having the same problem when i had my body kit, but one thing you gotta realize when you install a bigger body kit like that one, you're gonna have to change your driving habits.

When you go into ANY driveway, go at it at an angle so you wont hit your body kit. Also be on the lookout for speedbumps in your immediate future so you can plan a way to go around them if necessary. Any bump or incline can be crosses safely by going at em at an angle. Depending on how low you go you may have to go at it at a crazy angle. You'll get used to it after a while just hope you dont get into the habit after to FUBAR your kit.

Oh yeah, i'd go at LEAST 2" drop and a 45 series tire. I had at least 3 inches of drop running 205/45-16's and as long as i was careful how i drove i didnt have problems.

If you get bigger tires I would drop it 2" but as it is 1.5" would be good. But if you get coilovers you can mess with it a little more. I'm dropped 2.25" with 17" and it is just right.

me and a ton of other people like the way it looks, so it stays.

I wanted 45 series tires, but I bought these wheels used and they came with 40 series with fairly good tread. So it'll be a while before I get new tires, but I will get 45 series.

And I know all about driving over bumps crooked and stuff, just didn't see this hole that I fell into last night cause it was dark. Ended up breaking out my corner light :(

I'll look into that 1.5" drop for now. How about coilovers, can they be any good? That way I could lower it 1.5" now and maybe 2.0" after I get bigger tires?

coilovers are alright, but they're way stiff and your ride will be hella bumpy. just depends on how concerned you are about ride quality and stuff.

yea, I rode in bobafett's car and it was bumpy.. I am goin with dropzones.. they have the 2 in the rear and 2.25 in the front

and then put monroe's all round, that should be good

LEt me ask you something. Have you at sometime changed the struts or the front lower control arms?

Cause your front end seems extremely high. Or do you have a very heavy stereo in the back?

the fronts always sit higher for some reason.. I have droped mine 2 3/4 and the looks higher.. but if you do a .25 drop more in the front it will look even...

Monroes won't do anything for you, they won't save you. Talk to alex. He tried them and he was on springs allot softer than the dropzone's. They won't work right from the moment you finish the install and drive out of your driveway and springs that stiff will kill the new struts in short order.

Yea if you don't want your car to sag to much under weight get some coilovers. I got Dropzones with Konis and it might sag about 1/4 to 1/2 with my car fully loaded. Five people and items in the trunk.
