Well..I've been working, going to school so I hadn't had much time to take random pictures like I did in the summer! But here are some long overdued shots of my "new" rims.

The gunk on the tires is butter to help the bead sit in. Don't mind that =P

I'll let you guys keep on guessing on what kind of rims those are.

yes they are OEM..just not Honda OEM this time. :)

Boss manage to get me a set for a price I couldn't refuse. Anyways slapped on some new 195/55/15 yokohama es100s on them.

dam 12lbs thats pretty good. so how much. and new rubbers huh dam u got some cash so what did u do with ur gsr's?

derik wat kinda necessary fabrication you need to do for that 5g lip?

i was bored of the fat fives...and.. these weigh 12lb vs the 16lb of the fat fives so...extra 16lbs of unsprung weight gone! I don't exactly think these wheels look SUPER on my car but hey its different. I've seen at least 3-4 accords with fat fives now and it makes me wonder..wth? I don't think anyone else have Mini Cooper wheels on their car (at least for now...)


205/50/15 doesn't fit, 195 is the max..but hey...its a small sacrifice. as far as the ES100, I don't really like them too much but yet I paid $57 for each tire vs $98 for the bridgestones I had once. They do feel like the falken 512s but the treadwear is a bit less. I already rotated my tires after only 300 miles. ^_^



Like legend said, at 12lbs a piece, who needs to care about how it looks. The fat fives are still there laying around. Don't know what I'll do with it yet though..

right now im looking for some cougar rims the chrome 16's stock. my friend has them on his civic but he just doesnt have the center cap.

Im partial to the rims, i think they'll grow on me as i see them on your car more. Its different and dumb looking, but at the sime time, they make it look really clean... and like 10 years newer lol

I think some 00 Civic SI rims would look sweet on a lowered 3g, has anybody tried that?

i like them, D. doesn't look honda at all, and you're going to have the only ones on a third gen

i think the fat 5s looked better.. but if you don't want em any more ill take em off ya :p

yea i know you are bias to the fat fives cause you own a set! Yes the fat fives look better but everyone now has fat fives on their 3rd gen. Think about it rendon, 2 years ago how many people had these rims on their car? I think maybe 3 of us. Now it seems like there are at least 7 cars. Maybe that number is a bit high but it's weird cause the other day I saw a 3rd gen on the side of the freeway in my friend's car and I SWORE it was my car cause it had fat fives and was the same color but I realized I'm rolling on mini cooper wheels now.


Just trying new stuff. Besides, maybe i'll try some better looking mini cooper wheels ;)

they make the front end look mean somehow.?.....I like em and love the 12lbs 12lbs rims are normaly a big chunk of change.

Aren't stock 87 Lxi 13 inch alloys super light if you guys want light rims?? Those were the stock ones my 3gee had and I could lift one of those with tires on them with one finger. I don't see the big hype about small dinky looking wheels. Now if it's a 17 or 18 inch wheel that's super light, then I'll be impressed. Something like BBS RK's...18 inch is like 16 or 18 lbs on that rim if I remember correctly. But I like Volk's better. Something like Volk/Rays Gram Lights.

13inch rims dont fit on my car for the fronts... then.. 17 and 18inch rims are nearly impractical for the streets of san francisco. I'll bend the rim probably within the first 3 weeks. Yes they are impressive but hey, this is an OEM wheel that is light which is rare in most cases especially when it comes to smaller diameter wheels. Besides I got these wheels for far cheaper than what anyone else could've gotten them for. =P

yeah i hear ya bro. my car isn't a daily driver, i have the other car for that. but yeah, i completely understand. the largest i would put in a daily driven car is 17 inch with 45 series tires. im just speaking in general terms. no offense. i got nothing but props at everything you do to your car. i think it looks good but i think something like maxoutracer's ronal turbo 10's would be nice.
