Wheel identification ??????
Well the other day I was walking and I passed by a wheel shop that’s near my house. One of the rims caught my eye so I went in and asked the price was for the set and the guy said $200 bucks and I think to my self that’s to much. So I went home. When I was on my way to school I passed by there again and I offered the guy $150 and he said ok, so I got them. The only problem was that all of the rims except for one had been restored.
By restored I mean that all of them were polished and painted except for one. They look really good with the 3 rd gen accord because they have that old school style to them. One thing that I didn’t like was the size they are 14’s but I still got them. They have a name "VIRL" on them but I have never heard of the company. It also says that it was made in France. I took some pics today. I was hoping that someone new what car they came from or if they new something about them.

Re: Wheel identification ??????
i think they would look alright on pretty much any other coloured accord than laurel blue, sorry dude but that clashes like hell. [paint them black]
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????

i think i can pull it off... since were both short, fat, drive a accord, mexican, all i would need to do is paint the rims, break my pinky toe, and grow and afro........

i kinda feel like everyone is doing that (having black or gunmetal gray rims) i kinda want to have something out side the box.
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
there's a fat line between outside the box and ugly, and those rims cleared that line.
seriously, that mustard yellow combined with the blue paint and orange corner lenses just rapes my eyes. guess i'll have to see them with the rubber on to form an honest opinion.
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
Dijon mustard to be exact....
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
Paint 'em, and they'll look great!
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
Nice nice wheels, kinda small though. But I do kinda agree with jon about the colour combo. However I don't think its as bad as he thinks lol.
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
I like them, and I don't think the color even looks bad. 14's are cool though, tires are cheap.

fyi. if you ask any art person he or she will tell you that the color orange/yellow and blue are perfectly across from each other on the color reel. Which combined in a picture or structure makes a simultaneos contrast.
here's a link for ya

thats the first thing that came to mind when i bought them.

Re: Wheel identification ??????
well see i gave you that link to back up anything anyone ever tells you about them not...uh matching i guess is what normal people would use as a word to describe the complementary contrast between these to shades.
lol
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
I think they will look good too. Its definitely something different, which is good. I dont like when everybody buys the same stuff.

Re: Wheel identification ??????
Now all that you have to do is go to Big O and get some rubber mounted up and take some pics with them on your car. Not discount tire, not Les Schwab, Big O. :)
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
I need to see them with rubber before I form an opinion, but as of right now the look good, but kinda remind me of the rims on my grandparents caravan, I wonder if I have a pic of those around here somewhere.

well anyways, they are gay because now they belong to abe who is gay.

Re: Wheel identification ??????
wait so why are you laughing your fucking ass off at my comment?
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
I think if they were a little bigger they might look better. But don't listen to me they are your wheels. Right?
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
so have you gotten these mounted yet? i mean with rubber, balancing and the whole shebang
-
no not yet, i just paid off my car insurance for the next 6 months so now I'm broke again. so maybe in a few weeks
UPDATE
Well I still don’t have rubber on these rim’s. but I did find a place that was able to polish the very inside of the lip. I'm going to take the rest of the rims to them.
this is how the rest of the rims look like. with out the lip polished all the way
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...3/DSCN1022.jpg
here is the one that was not painted or polished. here it is after the lip was polished all the way
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...3/DSCN1027.jpg
what do u guys think. should i get them all polished???
closer pics of the lip
I'm also thinking of repainting them to the original color. the ones that were repainted are a slight more brighter

Re: Wheel identification ??????
i was looking for a set of rims almost exactly like that for my accord, i figured they would go with my paint but never could find any ofr sale (like i have the money to buy them anyways, i agree that if there going on the blue accord they should be a diffrent color, but the polished lip looks real good on it,

Re: Wheel identification ??????
I tend to like darker bronze colors with maybe some gold specs/flakes for the subtle shimmer.

-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
what do u guys think about the color? i have the bronze paint i would like to try and see how they come out.
-
Re: Wheel identification ??????
Looks good and it should look way better once you lower it. As for the color, I can't really tell if I like them from those pics because they are all dark. Please fix that dent from the accident on the left side because I hate seeing it like that. Then you'll be able to take pictures on the left side also. I just hate seeing my car's brother in "distress". haha. Nice tires btw.

Re: Wheel identification ??????

i really like the wheels...a real nice change from all the bland 17's you see on a lot of cars nowadays (including my own..) I say keep em gold...and drop em
