Get a teg cold air intake if you are going to spend money.
thats wut i told him....they have like hella colors...or you can paint it black so it matches the car paint..lol https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55907Quote:

Go with the CAI you will be much happier
I know I was when I switched over from short ram
Thank you everyone for your input, im just really stumped on the whole water thing, and it being difficult, as said, im not familiar with engines or anything as such, so im looking for something pretty simple is all.
Damn the shipping is what kills it, the one with the by pass on it is only 30$ and then shipping is 150$ geez
the cai is better but the short ram is a lot easier to install and does give you a decent boost.. though if you get a short ram you'll just end up wanting a cai anyways hehe

ok I just read this and im feeling quite a bit better about the water situation, so now all there is, is a question of how difficult an install would be for myself, I searched but can't find a very good answer to this, so if someone has a how-to or some thoughts it would be appreciated.
it's not terribly hard but you need a dremel or similar rotary cutting tool to widen the intake hole and and extra pair of hands for helping remove and reattatch the bumper would be good too
apperantely(sp) to them its easier to take off the bumper:violin:Quote:

well I have a short ram/hood scoop/cowl induction and haven't had any problems with it. no dead animals,no water injested etc. there are pictures on my site also try to search-hood scoop baffling in progress I think that brings it up here it is https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...ng+in+progress http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...a/ed314358.jpg the tube on the front of the air cleaner is closed off right now,I have a hot air door that mounts on he exaust manifold that connects to that for winter
yeah why do you guys remove the bumper?
It was easier IMO instead of removing the inner linerQuote:

i remove the bumper cover because it's easy. it takes a little while to get to all the screws/bolts, but it's not a hard task. and my bumper cover is damaged, damnit, and i can still get it on and off within 5-10 minutes.
the bumper cover is easy, it's getting to whats inside thats a pain in the ass. but i guess whatever works eh?
oh, i never take off the whole bumper. (except once when i was repairing it from front-end damage.) just the cover. and the air box wasn't THAT bad.Quote:

Lol wow, so will any 90 - 93 Integra cai work? cause I see some that look like they have different bends. also is there anthing negative about the ebay intakes?
Mines from EBay, 91 teg just make sure on the diameter no bigger than 2 1/2in
Just curiouis as to why, will it not fit or does it reduce the fuctionality after this point?Quote:

As far as from what I've read with a bigger diameter intake you will lose your low end torque but it will aid top end.Quote:

Damn monkey you the man! I like those ones too like your new one, but the only info i could find was for 94 accords and 90 - 91 integras, ill definatly be checking these out, so is there any mods needed for these or do they just fit right up?
Now the only problem is finding one thats not 3"
thats weird. the filter itself doesnt have the k&n logo like they normally do...it just says k&n in some gay block letters lol. hmm i unno if i would trust that.
anyway, the shape of the filter really doesnt matter, i mean its just to "filter" out any debris from getting into the intake itself. that one looks to be alright. myself, i prefer the cone ones or the HKS looking mofo's. i like the HKS looking ones because the filter is foam and it really is just a foam piece up against the piping. which really doesnt change the flow...not that a filter does. at least i dont think so. the cone ones, well that just looks "right" ya know what i mean? lol. but this one here seems to be fine and should work fine. now i dont know if it will fit though. maybe email them and ask for a measurement on how long it is. i think my cone filter is about 5.5 inches long, if that helps

anyway, i really prefer the way the 6th gen intake looks. and from my experience, it sounds, and performs better. it just seems that with the less bends in the piping, its more of a straight flow. then again it might just be me.
here's what im talking about
ebay link 1
ebay link 2
ebay link 3
ebay search results link
the cai I got off ebay for the 90-93 teg wasnt the right one i dont think, 1 piece instead of the 2 peice that was shown. Has anybody had a major hiss through their air filter even at idle? when i shut it down you can hear a major hiss as it stopps, as if its letting all the air out of its gut
My custom sri makes the same sound, if its idling it sounds like its sucking in air like crazy then i turn it off and it sounds like it exhaling, i dont think its a problem since mines been doin it ever since i had it, i can hear the same hiss, but very, very faint as my friends firebird is turned off so im guessing its no big deal, sounds cool IMO
