Here's a couple I found today:

Man, I'd love to pick up that SE.
Good idea man!
Darn it, I would buy that silver one today as a parts car if it was by LA!
Keep up the good work!
Somebody buy me that SE?
Hey 2gen, how far are you from Marysville?...lol
I'm seriously thinking of coming up and bringing that '79 back to LA as a doner car for the '77 restoration.
Only thing that bugs me is that it has the changes from '78 to '79 which make it not completely compatible engine wise.
My engine/mechanicals are good though so I'm kicking it around.
If it has zero rust/dents and the interior is good......it could be worth it.
The stuff I need ie. roof, hood, fenders, hatch, dash, bumpers, cowl, side markers and taillight internal (not outside) should be the same.
I might call the guy and see what he says.
It's going to be iffy on the fenders and hood actually fitting. Like 79Cord said in the other thread, they made just slight minor changes to every little detail on the car year by year. The 78 and 79 might be compatible or close, but it's hard to say for sure. Might be usable.
I would be 98% certain you could drop that whole engine into your car though. Just make sure to use your transmission on that block. People swap around Civic, Prelude and Accord trannys from what I've seen all the time. You'd need everything off that motor, black boxes and all though. Probably will still be some minor differences, maybe throttle linkage, fuel line locations, minor things like that.
If you do decide you're interested, I might be able to arrange a time to go look at it. It's about 100 miles away, so do your research and make sure you're certain you want this parts car. I can give you the final stamp of approval.
I guarantee, though that if you're patient, we can find you an actual '77 with decent donor parts. Rust is pretty minimal here, despite all the rain we get. We have salt-free roads here, so cancer is usually minor. I've been trying so hard the last few months to get some free time to head up towards Seattle, as I hear rumor there is a yard with at least 10 1g Accords and some 1g Preludes as well. I'd love to go get all sorts of goodie bits and check them out!!! And hook people up with parts who could use them!
I know, not an Accord, but interesting anyways.
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...nds/image2.jpg
Thanks.
I was under the impression that the hood and fender metal was the same, just the trim pieces were different and could be put on from the '77. Maybe not.
I'll have to find a '79 around here to compare to. The other reason I liked that
one was the silver color which would be easier to prep and paint vs. a full color change etc.
and I could use the black dash, door panels, plastic trim pieces, carpet etc.
In California, I can't change the engine comfortably because I risk them discovering it's an engine swap to a different model which would be smog illegal.
I called the guy but he hasn't set up his voice mail yet....lol....I'm still trying to contact him.
Thanks for the offer, I'll be sure it's the car first. I might just fly up to see it as I can fly for no cost.
LX Clock!! The seller has a bunch of other parts too.

Moved that thread over here. That orange one is really nice! I really like that color.
Man, I'd love to pick up that SE.[/QUOTE]
get it!!.. that SE is rare and needs to be saved!!.. well worth $200
I would if I only had a place to put it man. If I had the room, I'd have a ton of 1geez and parts cars hanging out. Just can't leave em in the field and let them rust away, it would be just as much of a travesty. The mice out here will destroy a car in no time. I just need to rent a big ass barn somewhere to start stashing my stable cars.
. . . . .had to delete this post!! sorry.
What was it?!?!!? :D :D Top secret? Are you bidding on it?
it was a clean 73 cvcc with a bunch of time correct and vintage jdm parts. he had engine parts too like a rare o.g. mugen camshaft... i posted it for member redr2 but had to delete it once i noticed but the dude had an extra set of wheels with the sale =P!!!!.. 14x6 hayashi rims in 4x120 -6 offset!!! i wanted dibbs on the rims before i posted it here!!! the guy never responded and the add is no longer, guess he might have sold it...
Ah I don't really remember. It was too far away (though I guess I could have snagged them on the way through this week) and I assumed he wasn't going to separate them. But I suppose asking wouldn't have hurt!

Woah those headlight covers are pretty sweet. Are they aftermarket do you suppose? Not that they'd really be hard to make or anything...
Yes I think they were aftermarket, '77-8 a bit more difficult to make covers for since their grille was curved outward in the middle. But at least their lamps were recessed.
Later models lamps protruding slightly from their flat grille so covers had to be spaced forward of the grille & bent back at the top to still fit under the bonnet. Not sure if Australian '81 ( maybe '80?) made things any better with new Halogen lamps with flat lenses & removeable H4 globes replacing the earlier sealed-beams ( not sure if Europe might have received these a year or two earlier).
I thought later grille with early lamp buckets to recess the lamps might be the neatest solution... Though well - fitting covers probably wouldn't be a brilliant idea anyway with the engines cold-air induction ducts drawing from around the right headlamp.
Oh yeah, factory cold air intake does get it's air from there. I wonder if they noticed any difference when they put that cover on there... They do look kinda neat though. I bet you could light them up somehow with some subtle, low lights. Oh man, ricer is coming out... I'm quitting while I'm still ahead.

Mom was the original owner, Hondamatic, black, 129K miles. Early model, 11/76 build, #7432. The good: Mechanically great condition and a little rough cosmetically. At 80K miles had valve job, brakes, carburetor, halfshafts. At 115K miles had timing belt, front shocks, tires, alternator, belt, plug wires, tune up.. Just passed California smog today with less than 50% of max emissions. Smog tech even commented it passed amazingly clean for a 32 year old car without a cat. Runs great, always starts. Smog good for 2 years and will register in California through 2009 included in price (about $100) The not so good: Has some rust on the roof, hood, cowl and tailgate. Rear brake cylinders weep so have to top off fluid once per month. Upholstery on seats coming apart, but has good sheepskin seatcovers. The usual dash cracks, radio inop. Some trim parts are a little rough and dent in left fender. Dings on front bumper. So it's a great runabout driver mechanically but a little rough cosmetically. Also a great restoration car, I was going to do it but major job issues prevent doing it. See it here:https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66800Price: $1000 firm. Car is located in Los Angeles, California. Thanks guys Andrew

78 accord with 120k miles. original owner.
Yeah that's VintyMinty. He mentioned on the JNC forums that he was selling it. :( Hope it goes to someone who loves it!! It's such a beautiful car.
that cluster is odd... whats that (1) for between 25mph and 30mph, also the speedo goes to 105 and my 82s only went to 85mph :|
That's because it was a 78 model. I think the 80mph mandate was for the 80+ cars. The 1 indicates what gear the car should be in at the speeds indicated by the line below it. That car had the 2-speed Hondamatic it looks like, so 1st goes from 0 to about 50, and 2nd takes care of the rest. All the old Hondas had gear shift points on the speedometer like that. A 4 speed would show the top speeds for all your gears. Kinda handy really.
'79 with 55k original miles.

1977 Honda Accord * Newer Engine * - $1000 (Burien)

Reply to: see below
This 1977 Honda Accord has a 1980 "1800 cc" engine and is a nice little collector's car. It is gold and has new tires. It is a 5 speed . The body is totally straight and the paint still has a good luster. The interior is red and the seats are in fine shape, as is the rest of the interior. Has AM/FM/CD with removable face plate. This is a hatchback model with fold down rear seat.
This is a CVCC model (don't see many of those anymore) but this one is in very nice shape. I even have collector plates on it, so you don't ever have to buy tabs again.

Great job on conveying ad information via simple copy and paste. Many times the LINKS were posted and the limited ad life of CL have caused the content to be expired. Kudos to you, man, for taking the extra 20sec to preserve the information for future reference (and purchasers).
Keep up the good eyes and good work.

Does anyone look in here or am I wasting time?
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1605845412.html
I look in here like everytime and get upset over it since I can't find anything like that here :(
Well, the guy made a first posting and said that it was sitting for quite a while. The original owner died like three years ago and it's been sitting since.
I look here too. I just get sad that I can't scoop all these cheap little mint cars right up and park them in my stable.
I wanted to keep this in the 1geez section. I am selling these parts and they are all brand new OEM Honda brand unopened. please feel free to make me an offer on anything. I am not looking to make a killing, I just want to see these parts put to good use.

I kinda wanna buy it and have John fix it.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1687530988.html
I'm really tempted.
What are emissions like up where you are? What year is the cutoff? The only way I could get that thing running decent is to swap a Weber onto it and just match up the jets that are in my 1gee. Though that one is probably a 1600, I'm sure it will be close enough. And with a Weber, there's no way I could get it to pass emissions.
Are you talking to me? If so, I thought emissions were the same for all of Washington. The cut-off (last I knew) was 24 years (25 for odd-year models). I always thought it was twenty, but I still had to bring in the '89 (and eventually the '88).
Please don't tell me you're driving a Fiesta.
It's not a Fiesta, it's a Festiva. Big difference.
Emissions are county by county here. I don't have any down here in Thurston County at all.
You knew what I meant. At least it's not an Aspire.
County by county? Dude, fuck.
It's closer to an Aspire than it is a Fiesta. It has an Aspire transmission in it, with a custom engine mount I made. :D

^^ The ad is down now. But were those the ones he was selling for like $1200?
Yeah, 1200 w/tires, 900 without.
Yeah kinda ridiculous. You can probably find them on Yahoo Japan for under $300 if you're patient.
NEW! Accord left fender in Washington (Spokane) for $20.
http://spokane.craigslist.org/pts/2098723717.html
Do want.
does it really have 17,000 miles on it?
Doubt it. With torn seats, probably more like 117,000. Odometer is 5 digits. But at the age of the car, mileage isn't really that important. Condition is.
Nice!! I Want!
Poor thing will never see the road again, I'm afraid.
How about both?
both would be sweet to.
but i have no where to put them =/
I don't know what you're talking about. Those are like ten miles from me.
:kekeke:
Damn, that's not a bad price on them either! WANT!
I have no reason (and no funds) to purchase either car.

Hondamatic anyone?
That red one. I'm almost positive I've seen it on Craigslist before. But it was for sale in crumpled condition. Looks like someone replaced all the parts that were damaged, which is cool. Just needs some paint and very little work to be mint.
That blue hatch is pretty nice too. Same with it, just some paint and a little upholstery work, and that thing would be good to go!
Pretty clean! You should get it Charlie!
