My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Looks good! Nice rims. I see you have been doing some research from the site. Is it lowered?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
It is lowered, when i bought the car is had the suspension on it. I would like to do a full coil over setup though, but hell can't beat the setup that is on it for only paying $300.00 for the car, and this is where my love started. Oh and if you can't see the pictures this my Myspace URL (www.myspace.com/ozzysc0443) so go there to look if you can't see them here.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Very Nice car man for $300!!! I payed $600 for SEI coupe and it was beat to shit!!! the exterior is mint tho!!! Awesome buy man!!! Good Luck with your plans... it already looks good!!! did you still have the weapon-r sri???
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
No I don't have the weapon intake my wife took from me to put on her car, she use that saying on me, since we are married whats mine is hers and whats hers is hers, I hate that.
Also yes to MessyHonda question i had to make room for the intake so i move the battery to the back.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Not a bad car dude for 300 bucks. What did you have to fix on it when you got it?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
The only thing that I had to fix was the exhaust cause the idiot that had it before me, had a crotch rocket exhaust jammed in ass and it sounding like a angry weed whacker. That was it.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Looks very clean.
Welcome to the Forum
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
for some reason those wheels remind me of a late 80's supra...
wish i could find a 300 dollar 3g...
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Thanks for the comment PICO and it is nice to be apart of a group that is actually helpful and rims CUBERT, you are going to believe this but i only paid $40.00 for them. My buddy had a 95 civic with those rims and it caught on fire and i ask him how much he wanted for them he said $40 and i handed the money to him on the spot.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
welcome to the board. great looking base you have to start from. Yep, I'm jealous too about those wheels at that price. ...and for 300 for the whole car, that's a steal. I still can't find anything here for less then like $600 for a rusted out bucket with a blown tranny or shot carb.
edit: ...and is that a DC header I see on there too? if so, that's worth more then you paid for the whole car.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
sure is ^^
welcome, nice coupe
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction

suggestion: move to where it doesn't snow to save your clean body

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Seems to be a good buy for $300US i guess. Specially if it came with the header.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Very nice car there. Welcome to the board!
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
wow....thats crazy man. Good buy. you got a good base start. DC headers. looks like a weapor r shorty. Sei is a plus shit man. very good buy. you can easliy turn that around and make double the money EASY. but i would just keep that lady lol.

around here that car would be worth over 2000$ lol I am about to pay more for a header than u payed for the whole car sometimes things just arent fair lol.

Thats because I am not selling my car. If I were, you'd find yourself a 3gee in need of tires, but it also has new suspension, brakes, hoses, radiator, clutch, flywheel, axles, shifter bushings, engine mounts oil seals(cam, crank(both),oil pump), all belts, reman rack and pinion with new tie rod ends, and rear disk swap for $1500-2000.
Great car to start off with! $300 sure does sound nice.

It's really hard to let go of these cars. I thought of selling mine, but after a good drive I just couldn't.

so true...
I've entertained the thought of selling also, but after all the time and $$$ spent on the car I just cant bring myself to do it.
I'm even thinking of selling my Legend and start looking for another 3G for a stock daily driver
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Today I tightened up my alternator belt and lubed my speedo cable, and even though the cable still rattles it just drives so great.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
I don't think that i could ever sell my accord, one of the main reasons is that, it is my first honda and i love her to death. My wife even told me that i am not allowed to sell her, cause she likes her to much, and she has never owned a honda ever. And yes i konw that i am talking about my car as if she was a person the kicker is she is. She has her up downs and about 1 week out of the month she is a bitch, but anyway there is no way i could get rid of her at all.

it was made by a member here on the forum, Justin86.
here's a link in the trading post https://www.3geez.com/forum/sr_classi...p?do=ad&id=109
the strut bar in the pic is a new design he made, it's a single bar instead of dual

nice find!! indeed.. Now sell it to me for 600$ ;)
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Bad thing is that i have had 2 other accord 89 sedan and a 89 coupe, i took the motor and tranny out of one to build up on. and used the other one for body parts and interior parts, the kicker is they both ran, Besides the coupe needed a head gasket, I had to scrap them cause the people i brought them from dipped out of state and forgot to give me the titles. I only payed 400 for one and 250 for the other. They are all over the place here around Cincinnati
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Hey guys check these out my buddy gave these to me off his 86 accord. They dropped it about 2 to 2.5 inches.

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
did you buy those H4 conversion headlights off eBay?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
No i actually got them from this website, they don't carry them any more but HELLA brand is just a good. What ever you do, do not get the headlights with the city lights in them, they leak and cause moisture to get inside and destroys the inside. but here is the link to the HELLA ones, a little more costly, and you could probable find them on eBay. Good Luck

-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
fuck yeah!!, and if you get a Denso(from a LXI/SEI) cluster and put the white bulbs in it , it will light up white like the new accords ^_^
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
I have tried to take my gauge cluster apart but i can't get the needles off, i broke the tach needle and had to glue it back on, any suggestions?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
No suggestions, but damn you've got a nicely modded car.
You guys are making me miss my old 3G. I want another one now.

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Thanks speedpenguin, and that is how i broke the tach needle, i tried to pop it from the very bottom and the base split. This is what i really want to do to the gauge cluster.

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
What kind of tie bars are those?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Megan Racing, they are from a 4th gen accord but with a little modification to fit mine, i am in the process of making high nuts for the front strut bar so that it will clear the intake
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Awesome what needs to be modified to get them to fit?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
The rear lower needs part of the jack hump cut out, the upper rear strut bar just needs the arms to be cut and repositioned and welded, and the front is the hardest cause you have to make spacers or do the top hat mod to clear the intake and then drill one hole on one arm, and then cut and reposition the other arm to fit
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Looks like they'll hit the firewall. The flange is the hard part though, you can always modify the runners.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
true the reason i asked is cause my wife said that if it will work i can get them, sucks that she has my money though :P
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
bad ass looking intake - no dimensions on the website??
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Hey quick question guys, i have a MSD 6400 box, what and were does the green and purple wires go and connect to, this is my first one, so please help, Thanks
And Thanks chillphillyphil
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
no idea on the MSD, but I can tell you that the ITB's will work (as long as you have clearance, which should not be an issue). I've been holding out for a while on bringing these up, but since you did, I guess it's already out there.
Unlike the DCOE setup (carb) you don't have to worry too much about the angle of the runners, ITB's, so you honestly can just do the very slight modification to the flange (Drill two additional holes, and egg out one more), and you can cut off the water nipple too, or just leave it as long as it doesn't get in the way (and it should not be in the way). To be perfectly honest, this will be equally as easy to install on a 3G as it is on a Civic/Teg.
I would take the chance to convert to OBD1 while you're at it too. Please do this, because I'm dying to see what sort of power gains you get off this, and other than 'justanothermike' who did this some 7+ years ago, you'll be the only other one to have ITB's in their 3G. Do it up man.
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
My plans for the motor is to get rid of the vaccum box, do an obd-1 setup, do my ignition, the itb's, do a port and polish and port match the head the intake and exhaust, bore the motor .20 over, and find someone that make flat top pistons. I have my suspension almost done all i am missing is coilovers and my ST sway bars, so i am starting on the motor next, then the body

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
Ow and does anybody know someone that that can tell me what the green and purple wires of my Msd Box get hooked up to, i know they go to the igniter inside the distributor, but the is four wire 2 blue, black/yellow, and a green
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
The green and purple don't do anything. But you can hook up a switch to jump them together and disable the ignition.

Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
nice msd set up...so when are you going to install the ITBS?
-
Re: My 1988 Honda Accord Lxi, Still Under Consruction
I have a lot i want to do first before i do the itb's, my list is,
ST sway bars,
coil overs,
vaccum box deletion,
obd-1 conversion,
build my other motor,
bore block .20 over,
find someone that makes flat top pistons,
port and polish,
3 angle vale job,
cam,
and then the ITB's
So it will be a little but i am getting there, cause see i want the suspension to handle the power first, so i don't do anything stupid and make my son fatherless

what is the point of flat top pistons if you want ITBs? ITBs are usually used in all motor applications and you would pistons with a big dome to raise compression
