lil rough but what do you expect for a cheap car some satin black rattle can and you will be murdered out
About the car it was in a very bad running condition. The injectors were leaking and a lot of gas was coming out of the injector’s rail, and boy when we cranked the car I thought it was going to catch a fire. The guy who was selling the car didn't care much about it so when it went bad he decided to sell it. I thought it was going to be a easy fix, WOW "jumping jack and his mother" every time I was installing a new injectors o- ring still was leaking gas bad. Finally after going to O-Reilly auto parts I found a o-ring the brown ones for gas and they had only 3 of those and with one black one I manage to fix the car with a small leak to drive it. Another thing the CV boot was torn and it was clicking really bad. For some time I drove the car I thought it was going to fall apart. The worst was the breaks. NO what so ever !!!!!!!:uh: the car was in North Carolina and I’m down in New Orleans 700ml. Driving this bitch was an ADVENTURE OOOOOO YES it took me 21 hours by bus and 2o hours driving the car back AND IT MADE IT
What part of New Orleans are you in? I lived there for 5 years and moved to PA in June of last year. I could have helped you out with some repairs but now I am gone.
Here is the accord on bricks before anything fixed

the carper got so much stain i had to wash it with two three chemicals
the stereo was the best working equipment in the car pioneer head and speakers. it took me 700 ml from north carolina to louisiana to learn how it works some os the options hehehehe

on my way back after 20 hours of agony driving with 50/55 mph the car started to die on me when i press the gas over 50 mph. i was 20 ml from new orleans and realy didn't mater b/c i was almost home.

after wahsing the carpet so many times still have a stains.any idea how to clean it?
http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3...d88lxi7xq8.jpg
should be clean now i guess, smells good dogh
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/494...d88lxi8rw2.jpg
much much better!
well if you can't get it clean enough, I would just consider getting a new one from ebay or some online car carpet store. I think you can get them for about $100. If it's clean enough for you now, that's even better. Get yourself a good set of floor mats, and you'll be golden.
Glad to see you being so thorough on cleaning this up.
...anyone got a fender for this guy?
Looks like a good project. I used to live on the west bank.
Nice work cleaning up the mess. I can't understand how some people managed to get their car that dirty!
Here are the mud gards plastic one but they do the job for now.http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/6...rd88lxijd3.jpg

today i was trying to deal with the engine problem right after 2500 rpm the car starts to die and i noticed gas smell and leak. WOOOOWWWW
the injector seal was gone bad. i drove the car with this after market seal for 700ml. made it home and broke. What a good thing to happen. http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2...rparts3og7.jpg
when to to honda dealer to see if they have the green o- ring seals. They didn't. The guy gave me same black one and said that he have been driving his integra 91 for 5 year with this black ones and never had seen something like mine. Mine is from Auto Zone parts
http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/3...rparts4ex8.jpg
this o-ring cost $4.65 man things are expensive now a days. $4.65 divided by $380(price of car) = 1.22% of total value:uh:http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/4...rparts2gg2.jpg

Back on the bricks......
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/2...d88lxi9za0.jpg
I think the stock finish looks pretty good with that blue. Maybe clean them up and touch up the stock paint, but I'd keep the color.
Are you doing something to the front suspension now?
It needs new paint job any way. I do like the blue color. I'm thinking to change the axle. Front left one b/c it rattles and repair the right axle boot is torn. it needs left front spring. most probably i'll take the spring from Junk yard. For the axle I bough one on ebay.com for $14 brand new, the guy who was selling it was going out of buisnes.
took the fender out, so i can i can fix it and open the door normal.
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/2517/accordlxi3sc9.jpg
took the under fender as well and you can see some rust pop out. that sucks
Head light was really bad and rusty, took that as well. i got from J/Y one like new and it works WOOW
I'm still having problems with the engine going over 2500 RPM. In parking no promles at all. Once on the road it suck big time. i think it is something with the air flow, to lean or something, b/c the car only jerks till it goes to over 2500 RPM.
found some nasty rust today. I'm fixing it the easy way with metal and silicon
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/4...ordlxi4xt8.jpg
the left side sucks, but that what yo get for $380

still trying to fix the jerkind of the engine

trying to fix the idle Sensor if that helps to fix the jerking. took some parts from J/Y today. this little part expands when the cooling temperature rise. i'll see tomorrow when i instal it
That little idle control tring is working fine, i did by pass it by putting a plate on the back blocking the idle control and the symptoms are still there
I took out this electrical sensor on the intake manifold, any ideas how it works?
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4...dlxi884gc9.jpg
i have 87 manuel and this car is 88, the manuel does not cover this sensor, some kind of dash thing which mine car does't have. Any ideas how this sensor on the picture works?
that thing you have there is a idle air xcontrol, basically adjusts the idle airflow to keep your cars idle rpm at 750 or so, as for the dashpot thing i dont think your lxi will have it as its automatic
Nice thread. Man you are making some good progress
Welcome i suppose.
Get on the bandwagon with twoloud and you can have the engine in that civic in your 3gee. Im pulling the engine and tranny all all that shit out of my car to do my bswap so of you need anyparts. let me know. i dont have any induction parts cos mine was a carbed model but i could sell you the tranny and clutch cable so you can do a 5 speed swap. If you need a head i have a rebuilt one.
I found the problem on the jerking part. It was vacum #21 which got little hole messing with the MAP sensor
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/2...rdlxi88cz3.jpg
got the new alternator for $14 from ebay.com i hope it works :):):):):
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/843...dlxi882go0.jpg

the two fenders are back in place and the doors open freelyhttp://img12.imageshack.us/img12/292...dlxi884tt5.jpg
good progress dude
to much spare time and money eh
hole in the map sensor pipe would make ur engine do alsorts of weird things.
Keep it up. your making good progress.
Welcome to the site.
No brother, so far the car cost me with parts, oils everything total $1014
Two weeks brother, this littel hole, i thought i was going nuts. But now is over and the car runs fine.

http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/3...dlxi882mf0.jpg

Good work, looking much nicer.
Is that alternator fitting well? Looks like the position of fixing eyes (the two holes where fixing bolts go through) seems to be a bit different from mine. Am wondering if it fit well? I am also considering replacing alternator and I noticed there seems to be two variations.
Is yours A/T? If so, I strongly recommend Honda genuine ATF (I know it is a bit expensive) as our A/T needs very specific ATF specification.
https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52954
Plus, if you want to experience real smoothness of the Honda A/T, I recommend to replace all the ATF by disconnect the 2 ATF hoses at the bottom of the radiator and replace as much as possible.
Believe me that would be day and night difference in the smoothness.
good work :D
The alternator is for the Carborator model. They gave me the wrong one at store. I took some pictures try to bolt it on i couldn't and there i found the problem. I returned that one and ordered from ebay.com one for $14. At the store was $65. The one i got now it has four connecting holes/pins the carb one had only three.
About the A/T fluid i will change it and i'll let you know what happend. It works pretty good so far, but i 'll take your advice and get some Honda A/T Fluid. Thanks Again
Thanks man. The car is good and it runs like a champ. I'll change the fluid as the epic1400cs recomended.
Thanks again
good deal man! glad to see your fixing it up the right way!
First 800 miles test to FLORIDA- car is perfect OOOOOO YYYYYaaaaaaaa......

holy crap thats a big bird.
anyways. overall the car looks clean. looks good.
WTF is that a heron?
This thread is awesome. Keep up the good work man.
yep, looks like a great blue heron. those faakers can be very nasty. Not as nasty as a swan, but they have pin-point accuracy (and fast at that) with their beaks (sp?).
Looks like a great little camp-out spot. Didn't they have some woods where you could have setup the tent instead of a parking lot? Car does look good though. Glad that purchase worked out for you.
Nigth shot in Florida
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3675/accord88lxi5.jpg
Where in FL did you go?
You could paint the wheels to look like expensve JDM racing wheels.
I found this pic on a thread with a company offering loads of odd / rare JDM wheels for sale. These suckers were selling for $900 for the set if I remember right.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...otorsports.jpg
Pretty sure ATS is German, but that is a cool idea. A nice, pearlescent white would look great with your car's paint. Those wheels are kinda similar.
tight pic!
