somewhat of an update...
I have been on this site now for nearly 9 years...man time flies. I don't post pics too often, but I decided to share some that were taken last weekend.
I was supposed to attend the Canam cruise in Niagara Falls, but CT DMV and Emissions prevented that from happening. I guess you are only allowed to get one 10day temp plate and I had already done that. Luckily, the woman felt bad and gave me another. So, it was very important I got the car to pass this time around.
For the 6 or so years that I have had an LS/Vtec swap I have not gotten the car dyno tuned. I know, I know...I am dumb! Well I finally got the car dyno tuned wednesday of that week with a very CONSERVATIVE setup to get me through emissions. The plan was to go through emissions on Friday morning at 8am, get the car passed and head up to Niagara. Well the car failed...TWICE. So, I didn't make it to Niagara, but went back to the tuner and made a few more adjustments and finally passed emissions on Saturday.
apparently my 320cc injectors @ 60psi are at 80% duty cycle and the tuner was not comfortable playing with the ignition tables, so he set those to a stock type-r. He advised me to get some bigger injectors like 440 or 450cc and then he can get more power out of it with the ignition tables. he estimates just over 200whp with those alone, but he highly recommended I get the skunk2 stage 2 tuner cams as well and that would put me in the 220+ arena. which for a 1.8 is pretty damn good. the car was tuned with a Hondata s200 and P28
Also, another new addition is my hybrid transmission. I was previously running a 90 LS transmission. it was mint with no problems, but you could tell it was holding the engine back and making it work harder. My new transmission consists of 93 YS1 case with an ITR LSD, JDM 4.7 final drive, and b16 gears. this thing lets the engine SCREAM! everything transitions soooo smooth...only downfall is that I forgot to do the LS 5th and thus my 5th gear cruising @ 65mph is 4k!!!
BTW....I plan on going to Import Alliance in July and I hope other 3gs will try and make it out there!
so without further adieu...

Re: somewhat of an update...
so my current exhaust is:
JDM ITR header w/ 2.5" outlet
a napa cat
thrush glasspack as a resonator
2.25" piping to a dual outlet muffler
the new setup will consist of
Rage TriY header w/ 2.5" outlet...I may upgrade to the big tube design
2.5" test pipe from Kteller
90-93 Accord Kteller stainless steel exhaust piping kit...DO NOT BUY FROM KTELLER!! you can buy this kit directly from VRS exhausts as that is what they do but mark it up by $40-50. from what I can tell it will be a little long, but will be easy to trim. I did not want to buy a nice exhaust for the 90-93 accord and then have to hack it up
Magnaflow 2.5" resonator
Vibrant Performance 2.5" 1040 muffler

Re: somewhat of an update...
Sucks you didn't make it but least your done with the emissions crap (4 more years for you LOL then you can get antique plates).
Let me know if anything is coming up im down to go to the track!
Good work as always.

Re: somewhat of an update...
Nice, I didn't know about that VRS Exhaust. I'll probably buy from them next.

Re: somewhat of an update...
So the 4G exhaust does fit, then? I read that the turn for the fuel tank was the part that needs some work., do you know what all has to be messed with?

Re: somewhat of an update...
looking good buddy-yeah that b16 5th gear is not fun on the highway!

I do not know how it will fit YET. All I can tell you is that the bends look similar and because this is a kit and it doesn't have actual flanges; it will be easier to modify

Re: somewhat of an update...
that exhaust looks cool :D

Re: somewhat of an update...
Looking good. The tranny idea is great... would suck having that 5th gear though I would go nuts.
Dyno and pics look pretty good for such a reserved tune. Good luck with the new exhaust and header install, should turn out prettty nice when it's done.

Re: somewhat of an update...
WOW...never knew your 3gee look so hot....

Re: somewhat of an update...
nice Steve. Hey, now that you're legal, bring that exhaust down to my house when you come and we'll mock it up if you want. Now that I see the pics, the only thing I foresee (other than overall length) is the length of the bend in front of the tank. I'm guessing that'll need to be extended a bit. Nothing a tubing stretcher, and that extra length of tubing they gave you, can't fix.
Love the new pics. Is that a DC2 or DC5 diff?

they were Koni Reds, but they were sent back to Koni and were revalved, made double adjustable, and shortened...so they painted them yellow, I guess they are Koni Yellows now!

haven't gotten the exhaust on yet as I am waiting to get a new front crossmember installed with my current header as I know it is a bigger design. I am having problems finding a place to do it at a reasonable price

negative to both.
I finally got my oilpan back on. Prior to today I had not driven the car since the meet in NJ back in late AUG. When I got home there was a small hole in the side of my moroso pan. I sent it to moroso and they fixed it, but I did not install it right away. I finally got it installed yesterday, filled it with oil this morning and took it out for a while. I missed it...
I kind of like it without a grille, but both items will be on before the meet next year.
