Next Portland meet planning poll

Im setting up a poll to see who would be down for another meet and what date would be best for them or even if they care when as long as it happens. I dont get down to portland very much anymore so i cant say I know what the happenings are as far as events or things to do. It does sound like everyone had a good time and Im sure we can do the same if we wanted to. But on with the poll. Let me know if youd come and what date works best. i think saturdays are the best days from reading on past events. You can vote for more than 1 so feel free to check as many as youd like. i guess the best or highest number wins?

I'm out of the country at the end of Aug, but none of this should hinge on whether I'm here or not.

Works good for me since It will give me time to save up some money and get my 3gee ready for the long drive.

i dont think i will make it.....the first week il be out of the country and the 3rd week im going to vegas....so no road trip money

Pretty much 8th, 15th, or 22nd. The 1st could work but I think I am going to have lot of crap going on. The 29th is no good because the night before is my going away party...

I don't care about when, I'll make plans around it. I want to know why it can't be in Seattle...

Ill say as people chime in and we see the approximate location of everyone well decide of portland is the correct place or not. If most people are from the north I dont see why se would want it to be further south. At the same time Bitesize and rendon are the furthest east so fast access should be a mmust for them. I dont care but Ill let everyone else make a comment on to a location.

I think I am the only one who comes from the South. Seattle would be fine for me...

I'm in southern Oregon. That's pretty dang south. I'm good for a Portland meet, though.

I'm thinking middle or end of the month, but I need to figure out when we are camping and rock crawling that month.

I gotta put my Sidekick together and my Honda all the way together before, and I am going to the Rubicon next monday for a week, so it's gonna be a close one!

Make it to OSU and we can go the rest of the way in my car! But given recent events I can pretty much make any date. The 29th will be tough though because the night before is my going away party (for the military) and the 30th I have to report to Portland to ship to basic...

Tha end of tha month would be best for me im finally getting my tranny replaced in tha next few weeks. Somewhere in wa would be better but ill do what i can to make it to portland. Never been to a meet yet and really looking forward to one. so my vote is from tha 20th and up anyday will work as long as tha cars feeling up to it. ill start saving my money now

Im going to get my Tranny on monday so i should have it in and running by the 15th. Any more news on this meet? Not to change tha subject but i was told by my dads friend tha transmission takes motor oil :confused: im sure its bs but just to clear that up what should i put in it? 5 speed

Yes Honda MTF is the best. Get it at the dealer. Or any 10w-30 or similar oils.

Ive always used honda mtf but the manual also calls for 10-w40 or thats what I used in my 1st gen civic

It would be nice to get a meet together this month. I have a forced relocation coming up thanks to the military so goodbye to 3Geez Northwest soon.

I will have a hard time making it in August, its shaping up to be a really really busy month for me too.

Going to be working solid for the next while, so it's not looking like I can make anything around then.

I'm working on mine right now, but with that last bolt on the intake manifold giving me the finger, I think I'm gonna have to cut the manifold up and make a better setup.

I'm running nice and smooth, now. I feel I can make a trip to Portland and back without any trouble.

When's the meet, guys? The only thing I got going on is my system, and I'm a little faster than a perfectly running stock 3g, but that's it.

I think everyone's too busy to make this one. I know I can't go now; I work.

I work 40 hours a week, 8-4:30 and I think I can do a Saturday meet and come home Sunday.:dunno:

What about labor day? I got that day off.

And? :) I work a different schedule every week. I could work 10am-5pm one day, 4pm-midnight the next. I work almost every damn weekend.

Where is it? I'd feel so out of place with my car. Stock, piece of crap, barely runs, piece of crap...that can be fixed with some effort.

There's a 5-speed SE-i coupe not too far away with 190k miles for $1,000.

That's how I feel... I would be soooo out of place, and I don't like being in one spot for too long unless I am occupied, but I think that was the plan for the meet. Honda Tech. Now if there is some racing involved,...

I'm about 4 hours from Seattle but I have nothing else to do with my time so I'm most likely going.

i'm in the beaverton area... right on the edge of civilization... probably not going to be able to make it to this one, just too far away. And i work that morning.

I'm still thinking about going. It's a long ass drive for me though, so I'd have to get up damn early. I'm just running out of funds. Dentist bill is gonna be horrendous (no insurance) and I just bought some POS old F-100 to fix up and sell.

I'd still go for the pre-meet.

Sorry it took so long to add pics i just got a job and have been really busy. Lookslike a good turnout. Overall how many cars showed up and was it kept respectable or a bunch of shady's lurking around looking for the next car to jack. not very often you see hoods popped anymore.

Well have to plan a west coast spring meet. The eastcoast guys are killing us here.

I'd be down for a meet. I'm in Boise, but have no prob going to washington or oregon...

I was thinking north cali if not many canadians are comming. if we are getting quit a bit maybe a central north oregon meeting location. if there is a place closer to central oregon it may work out better for those east of the cascades range. It seemed portland worked good and messy drove like 7 hours to get there. How long did roach drive for. maybe portland is the better location again.

Well i didnt stay there very long but wen i was there id say about 200 cars. It was actually pretty respectable there were a few people looking at cars like they wanted to steal them but for tha most part it was good not to many spoilers and bodykits wich i really liked and all tha exhaust was good NO FART CANS!! But then again i didnt stay for tha whole thing.

What about Bend, OR? It's pretty central, and my parents would actually let me drive that far, as long as Mike can prove to them that my car can make it there and back...if it actually can...

There's just not a lot to do in Bend. It's like a hang out for rich couples- well it was before their economy tanked. I think Portland is better just because it is closer to Washington, which is where most Northwest 3Geez is from.

But I think the current meet is more of a West Coast, rather than NorthWest.

But Portland Has A Drag Strip!! you know you wanna run. i definantly do. havent got a chance yet an tha only other track close i know about is Pacific raceway in Kent,wa. But of course my car prolly wont pass inspection with tha tires i have. ...... And tha leaks

If it seems none of the south west people are going to make the drive why make the meet that far south. Pacific raceways has go karts and a huge facility. We could do a washington meet first and go for a west coast meet late summer when everyones cars are tip top.

I like that plan. Id feel better about having a few hundred more dollars into my car before a long drive. Ive never been to Pacific raceway but ive wanted to go for awhile now. How much do they charge for there go karts?

I agree bro...i have to replace a rear main seal...NOT to a extent where its where im seening a puddle of oil under the car but i can see some oil and it bugs me...i need to have some other shit i want to get done b4 a trip...but im down for the meet in seattle area....like 2.1/2 hours for me so no biggie.....i would love to see your setup and can learn from you as for OBD1 stuff....but w/e guys im in...mike we need to make a plan bro as for CARTs o man i love em....it was a blast in portland....so whatevers you got in plan well do. Im down at any point and time. if its in april my car should be looking sexy as hell i got a part time job rite now but i should be in truck driving school by the end of this month and finished with it by december. Thatl give me 4 months of great pay an most of it going on tha accord.

well right now i have to rebuild turbo. fully tuneup....mig weld a spot on the mani...install flex pipe....rear main seal....BUT....if i can just get the turbo rebuild and flex pipe install then i might able to make er.

I agree with juggalo; April is really far away.

You have to start planning meets months in advance. April might be too far out now, but you can at least start looking now for activities that will be happening and plan it out in your head. It's gotta be more than just a meet if you want people to come. Come up with a good game plan, and announce it 3 months in advance of the actual meet. I would say try to avoid doing BIG meets really often. Keep the frequent ones smaller, then have a once a year blowout kinda thing.
