Alright, i believe it's my turn to host a meet. Anyway, theres this awesome place called the Azusa Canyon around my house, and i know of the perfect place to meet there. Great photo-op area, and fun to drive around. This place is called Glendora Mountain Road, or GMR for short. Its a series of tight turns and is a blast to drive..

Anyway, here's a video going DOWN GMR from the meeting place that i've decided upon, which is actually at the top of GMR..

Adrian took a few pics as well, he might post them up.. Anywho, we can have a barbeque up there, but we need a permit.. Don't worry about that though, me or Adrian will pick one up.

Alright, so i was thinking it would work like this; We'd meet up at my house around 10:30-11:00, and once everyone showed up (ON TIME!! i don't want to wait around!) we'd caravan up to the place.

The date is not decided upon yet, but you WILL need to request the whole day off from work. It will be on a saturday or sunday though, that's for sure.

I'll say this again though, if you say you're going to come, you NEED to be here on time. My house is not hard to find, even adrian said so and it was his first time down here.

My house is really simple to find.. It's the second house on the left once you turn off of gladstone, and there will be a white convertible mustang in the front, unless it gets sold.. But either way you'll see my accord parked in the drive-way, and if my mom is home there will be a silver 2001 Eclipse in the driveway.

But anyway! So when should we do this? And can you make it ON TIME?

...im thinking 10:30am.

(Only reason i want to meet earlier is for good pictures, and because the canyon isn't a good place to be when its dark..)

EDIT: OH! And since it will be ALL uphill on the way to the meet spot, you might want to have a full tank of gas before you leave the house. It'll use around a quarter tank maybe, depending on your car's mods.. You might also want to be sure to have a spare tire with you incase theres any sharp rocks or anything on the road.

anyway! dude you guys have to come, you dont understand how freaking fun it is to drive up there! oh and i cannot say anything and i mean anything bad about the downhill. its a complete adrenaline rush. anyway, just like cory said, you have to be there on time, i think we should leave around 11am so thats how much time you will have to get there. even though its just a staright road to get there, its kinda hard to find unless mapquest can help out. lol. anyway! click on the video link if you havent already, i know its a big file for some of you (19.something megs) but....its awesome

unfortunatly my laptop ran out of battery and i dont have my charger so i cant upload the pictures just yet, ill do it asap, though.

OK my car is going to be registerd very soon. That looks so amazing, i really want to drive that and see what my car can do after i get my springs.:D

I warn you NOW, you NEED to be careful!! I wouldn't personally exceed 30mph on any of the turns. One wrong move or patch of dirt and its off the side of the mountian you go!!! And theres no coming back from there!!

And i was thinking more along the lines of 10:30 am just so everyone can be there by 11 and we can be up at the mountain by 12 at the latest...

past 30mph? lool a good driver who is experienced at these things can drive this place fairly fast given the right car too.

My old car lived for this stuff. I wanted to run GMR one day with good ole blue but never got a chance to drive down to LA to visit.

Hes right about the turns there towards the bottom its mostly hairpins on GMR, it is no joke when i was going to glendora high school 8 kids died 8 different times up there.Since the late 80's 45 kids have died trying to out drive "The Road".

AZUSA canyon is a drag strip compared to GMR

it is a dangerous road. I've been on that road before so I know how difficult and technical the road is. As long as people know the limits of the car and the limits of themselves and not reach those limits, it will be fun!


Just happens some people's limits are alot higher so they seem like they are going much faster but they aren't pushing themselves. It's like weightlifting, some peple can bench alot more without breaking a sweat. just takes practice =)


I would love to drive that road in my car again..perhaps this winter. hehe

Yeah, the top isnt too bad, but you still need to be careful. Theres a few straights going through it, but theres some pretty sharp turns at the end of em.

What you need to do is look WAY ahead, while also trying to watch out for obstacles in front of you...

Derek, you should bring your civic down when we have this meet. We wouldn't shun you just because you drive a civic. :)

We haven't thought about a date yet though.. I guess i'll just try to think one up and i'll throw it around a little.

Anyone have any idea on a good day? Im open for suggestions....

January 7th.. Soundsa alright. Might be a little soon, because some people might need more time to request days off.... We'll toss it around though.

ok here are the dates that are saturday's in january

7, 14, 21, and 28. anyone one of these dates are ok for me, just let me know so i can ask for the day off.

yeah, my boss said it should be anywhere from 10 to 20 bucks for a simple bbq. from the ranger station.
