Hi I just Joined this forum i am 16 and will be geting my dads 88 accord lx-i in a few months it is kinda beat up and has some rust but runs storng we just got it for $500 bucks needing a clutch. with only 151000 on it :rockon:
i live in oakhurst ca 40 miles from yosemite and 50 miles from fresno. we will soon be moving to N.C.:cheers: . anyways i would like to know some cool things to do the car

nc, where at in nc? not too many members from here but that looks like an lx so the first thing i would do is the fi swap to get rid of the carb and blackbox. then i would get a door panel. have you checked the market lately? it is very hard to find any aftermarket for our cars so use this forum to your advantage when searching for parts and info. also use the search feature too, if not the "locales" will hang you to dry

the door panel was in the trunk when we got the car so that is now fixed :)
and it has EFI no carb or black box.
yes it is very hard to find aftermarket parts for are beautys.
we are most likey moving to pafftown N.C.

i could tell it was an lxi from the interior :D lxi's maroon interior has that grid design and the lumbar adjust on the driver's seat. plus the wheels are 14" lxi stockersQuote:

oh and first "mod" i would do is pull the center caps off the wheels lol.. i think those wheels look better with out the center caps, especially when they've turned all yellow and shit.
:welcome: yeah that is a LX-i I have the same thing too...i also got my car for 500 bucks all it needed was a radiator to get it running. like frantik said its nice to have a new cali member. well you are in luck since you have a fuel injected car...you can find lots of mods. i would first give it a wash and clean the interior. Then just get the car to run. do a tune up. dont worry about mods till the car run 100%. i have lots of stuff in my living room just waiting to be put on.
ya the center caps are ugly i took them off allready the car runs good no engine porbloms but the clutch is geting bad we have to replace that very soon and it could use a tune up. i would to put a DOHC Vtec in but dont have the money or skills this will be my 4th car i had a 1982 honda accord hatchback and a 1994 geo metro that i sold last year when we moved up here
and i had a 1982 chevy cavaler it was army green and the uglyest car ever LOL. but i am not selling this car.
oh dose anyone know what kind of paper i shoud use when printing the free gauges from http://www.pauldesign.ru/honda/projects.html?

Id say use some of the hard plastic tipe paper. it will also need to be printed with some kind of neon ink and lit with a black light so you can see the guages at night. As for mods id say go to the jy and get a tailight and a door panel:DQuote:

2nd i'd take a trip down to the Fresno Pick-n-pull or the Pick-a-part off of hwy 99 near madera, and pick up a set of tail lights or they also come up on ebay all the time.
you will come to know alot of good people and find out alot of helpful info on this forum.

you can also put hose gauges on a disk and bring them to kinkos and have em print them out on really nice photo paper for like 5 bucks. probably could cut them too.
