New User/Owner 1987 Honda Accord
Hey guys, figured I'd introduce myself. Recently acquired a 1987 Honda Accord with a carb'd A20 for $600. The initial intentions were for it to be my girlfriend's car while I build my Civic but it has quickly gone off the rails and I fell down the rabbit hole that is 3geez.
Right now the plans are to try and find some 2nd Gen Prelude UCAs, a set of Cheddas LCAs, and swap out the stock carb for a Holley to make it more streetable for a daily. Once I've done that I have some much more intense plans for her, but in the meantime, I'm just trying to get it back to it's former glory. Glad to be a part of the community and excited to contribute!

Here she is, the new obsession that will likely take up all of my time and all of my money even though I say i plan to just do "small" upgrades.

Thanks man. I was honestly really excited when my girlfriend showed me the car. I haven't really ever seen many, if any Honda's around me that are earlier than 1990, so it was something new for me, and for her as well. I really want to fix the paint because I'm a fan of the grey, and then plan to give the interior a bunch of love. It's not in bad shape, it's just dirty from sitting forever.

Update time!
Just ordered myself a new ignition and door locks because the keys it came with were extremely worn. And at $14 for the door locks, and $18 for the new ignition, I couldn't pass it up. Next week I'm ordering new rotors, drums, pads, wheel cylinders, calipers, the whole shebang, for all four corners of the car. After that I have a few small things I'm gonna do like swap out the old thermostat for a brand new 180* and do a full flush since the car sat for so long. Followed by the obligatory oil change and so-on. I'll post pics and updates in a new thread as I get the project goin!

Been awhile since I've checked in because life has been pretty busy lately. Finally got some time set aside and picked up a Weber 32/36 carb for the A20 for a cool $100 cash. It came with an MG Midget intake on it that I plan to sell in hopes of recouping some of the money I spend on upgrading things on the Accord to improve drivability. Now I just have to order the adapter and we'll be one step closer to getting her truly roadworthy!
