True I post this stuff up for the public to see and say what they will...
But flat out negativity isn't needed... If you have some constructive critism, I have no issues... I could care less that You, don't like it... And for that 1 no, Theres 12 out there that love it...
And come on.. For real, whos got a wood floor?.. Thats gonna be the next big thang man... It'll be on mtv in all the dunks in no time..:flip:
It wasnt negativity at all, it was simply meant for you to think twice. You are more than welcome to do what you feel like with the car, I'm only sharing my opinnion just like everybody else, the only difference is that I apparantly dont agree with the others. I honestly think wood is a good original idea but would never consider using it myself. I respect originality in whatever form or function that may be.

well then I retract my previous statement

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
Damn it's been a long while..
Accord is sitting out in the snow, covered of course, but none the less just sitting...
I'm so sick of body work!!
I've been planning another accord build, but something that hasne't been done before..
So i'm contemplating, swapping the motor, suspension and brakes out of the SEi into an lxi with a decent body or something.. Then using the sei for the new project.. But I don't know.. I'm so broke right now, even the similist ideas aren't that easy, lol...
However, after the suby dethaws in the garage I'm gonna pull it back out and pull the accord in..
I'm gonna install the Eagle Adjustable cam gear I just sitting.. And I'm gonna start putting on the itb's.. I said I was gonna wait til the body was done.. But at the rate I'm going with that, my grandchildren may never see it done!!
So if itbs work and everything looks good I think I'll be looking for a new 3g chasis, maybe a hatch....
On a side note, Is it possible or has any one done this.. SAFC 2 or NEO, with the stock obd0 set-up? Does anyone know if I'll be able to hook my NEO up without converting to obd1?
-
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
safc2 no problem at all. i had one on my car. they are a breeze to hook up. as for the NEO, I'm sure its the same story you just won't use the vtec wiring.
-
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
would yo uhappen to have a write up or any advice for install?
-
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
i don't have any write up, but I can probably help you out with which wires to use. my install was on an 86 lxi so I am not 100% sure on wiring differences, but I can look at my harness and tell you how I wired it up. :) The SAFC2 is sold now, but I used vampire taps, so there is evidence of where everything was hooked in. :)
Let me know what you are wondering and I will try to shed some light if I can...

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
I definately will when it gets here..

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
Well here she is with no intake mani at all..
She's only got about 50hrs of run time so the ports are still gorgeous!!
And Drumroll please........
Here they are installed..
Got everything hooked up as far as iac and other intake sensors, throttle cable, fuel..
All the Vac lines are just mocked up.. I'm gotta get some supplies together.. I'm gonna replace all the blue vac lines with the stock black silicon again.. Once the vac lines are hooked up correct, I'll be able to test start it..
edited for lack of pics

Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
Was the strut tower bar for a carbed accord? I only ask because it looks like it would clear the carb.
You camera or lighting makes for some interesting colors in your pics.
Did you attempt to seal the throttle plates better or did you leave them alone? An easy way to see the gap is to hold a light behind the plates so that any light shining through the cracks will show where air will leak.
-
Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...
I made the strut tower bar for the efi.. it's to clear the cold idle on the back of the intake..
It's might clear a carb , i'm not sure..
As far as sealing the throttle plates, no I didn't have them machined any more.. I'm kinda counting on the slight leaking action to control the idle..
The closer I get to start up.. The more I doubt it's gonna work.. But I put to much work into it to let ideas and possibilities stop me now...

That's a way to see things. I can only disagree with this tough. Fram oil filters are the worst.

I'm so frickin excited!! I'm pickin up an LXi for 500.. The body is straight, and thats really all I'm concerned with.. So I'll be swappin most everything over from my accord project to the new one so that I can drive it!! Then my current accord gets reconstructive surgery and open heart too.. We'll just put it this way.. If swappin say a Bseries honda engine is like a human to human heart transplant.. My baby's gonna have the heart of a full grown gorilla..
Here's a little let-in on the plans.. SVX H-6 TT(custom) AWD and it'll sit snugly right in the engine bay of my good ole accord which is going to be completely stripped of all the body work i've done, stripped of all interior and just have a roll cage installed.. She's going to become a track monster...
I'll give more pics in an undetermined amout of time :D
UPDATE 01-11-09
Project: HondaSTI
Chasis: 1989 Honda Accord Sei (CA6)
Motor: TBA
Initial plans were for an H-6 twin turbo,
but tuning will be a nightmare. Prolly wrx
to get things going.
Drivetrain:Sti 6spd DCCD, with matching Rear Diff.
Suspension: Most likely tien coilover system for ver 2 Sti, or comparable. Would like the entire Tien suspension setup, but will settle for Sti in the begining..
Brakes:4pot/2pot stock Sti Brembos
Interior: Only whats necessary to get a driver and copilot safely and swiftly to the finish line.
