My 1989 prelude si project

I purchased the car a couple days ago and from the start it's had a bad misfire! I've changed plugs and wires and still same problem. It's throwing an engine code but it's an obd1 so I have no way to plug my scanner in to diagnose the problem. Is there anyway to check for engine codes? I apologize I'm new to forums and not quite sure how to check and see if this question has been asked/answered already. If anyone could help that'd be great! Thanks
