1982 Accord LX Emissions Control Removal?
Hello,
I don’t need to take emissions tests for this car due to its age. I’d like to simplify the engine bay and remove the EC system.
Nervous about keeping things running with all the vacuum connections.
Has a Weber carb, so air intake and attachments to carb are largely already disconnected/capped.
Anyone have experience with with this procedure? Wanna share some advice/pics?
Thanks!?

My advice is to keep as much as you can. Every piece helps to preserve and prolong engine life, not too mention keeping you from asphyxiating your neighbors.

Thanks for the advice. Trouble is, the guy I bought the car from slapped a Weber carb on the car and there are at least 10 hoses either open or capped around my engine compartment. Without a proper air cleaner and stock carb ports to connect them to, I'm worried they'll just suck a bunch of dust into bad places.

Well, you can drive it like it is and see how it goes. Keep an eye on the caps and such and replace them if they fail. If you want to clean up the mess, you'll have to sit down with the manual to figure out what's been done, what's been un-done and what's been done wrong. Then you'll have to unscramble it all and do it right. By that time you'll realize that the stuff Honda put in there is doing some important work. You can still pull it all out at that point, but you might decide that a few dollars' worth of vacuum line and T-connectors are easier and cheaper than re-engineering what Honda has already done. There really isn't an easy way to get to that point from where you are right now. You can post up some pics and we can try to help, but you're still going to have to figure it out.
