Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
Well, I just registered for the show. I'm planning on driving my 1st gen down there. I know that Hash Man is going as well, not sure if I'll be able to do the same schedule as him or not, but it would be pretty fun to drive down together! Is anybody else going? I think entry is $45 into the show. $8 for spectator tickets.
It would be cool to get a couple more people coming down. At least some of the Cali guys should show up!

Yeah, it'll be a long drive, but nothing I haven't done before. :)

Re: Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
I'm pretty flexible on my schedule for the drive down, I booked time off work starting on the 12th, so I figured I might head down then. Either way I plan on spending a bit of time down in Cali before or after the show.
Hopefully we can get a few more Accords out for the show.

Sounds epic, but I can't go. Too broke. :(

Re: Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
Aww! It's only like $8.00 + gas. You don't HAVE to put your car in the show ($45), though your car would be a really nice example!!! You can draft Hash Man, and save some gas!

Well, I think it would be fun to caravan at least part of the way. I might cut off in Sacramento and visit some family in Visalia. But maybe not. I'm not sure how fast I can drive the car though. It's at like 4000RPM at 80mph. And it's only a 6000RPM engine. The GS-R can handle that, but I dunno if my 30 year old engine will like that for very long. I guess I was fine the last couple of times driving it at like 75. But I don't wanna drive you nuts going too slow if you wanna go a whole lot faster than that.
I also will be making a stop somewhere in Oregon to drop off some 1g interior parts. The guy owns a 1g and 2g Civic, if you wanna stop and check em out. :)

I might be able to make it to this in my car. Already order the parts needed just gotta get my lazy ass to work on it. Could have it running in 3weeks although I won't show my car in the show. No job equals no money lol.

It would be sweet just to get some more people out there! :)

Where were you when C.A.M. was looking to sponsor cars to show? Ah, but it's real cool that you'll be bringing your car down. I will definitely be going as will rdempster whose car we did sponsor. I look forward to meeting you.

Haha! You wouldn't want to sponsor my car. The paint is in pretty sad shape on the car I'm bringing, with peeley clearcoat. Next year though, I will have it freshly painted and she'll be 100% minty. :) Also, I'm not from California!

I'm sure we can figure something out. I am still making my plans for when and where I am stopping. I will keep in touch and we will plan something.
But I am with Messy, we should do a small caravan into the show.

Shoot! I REALLY want to go, but I'm moving back to Santa Barbara on the week of September 24th for school and do not want to drive back and forth between there and the bay area in such close intervals. I'm contemplating moving in early just for the show, but it's not likely.

I think I might try and make it out to this event. It's at the queens Mary event park where I made it to wekfest this year. It's a really nice park but man I sure do hate when it comes time to leave everyone is trying g to leave at once it's crazy.

That would be sweet! I'd love you see your car! You should totally put it in the show!

Re: Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
Are any of you guys going to be getting together the day before or the day of? C.A.M. would like to meet the faces behind the names.

Re: Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
I doubt I'll be making it the day before. I'll have my car IN the show, so I'm sure you'll be able to find me. :)

Re: Japanese Classic Car Show - Sep 15 - Long Beach, CA
Bump! I'm leaving Thursday morning. Got a reservation booked in a room on that boat that's attached to the venue. Nice sizable discount to JCCS visitors.
