Re: my daily driver project
thanks.
well today, I decided to investigate how water is getting all in my interior, typical sunroof leak. 1 of the lines where cut, the other 3 where completely clogged & 1 was just going into the boot, which filled up the whole spare tyre wheel well with water. I couldn't even blow down the hoses. with the cut line, I just blocked it off, cause threading a new hose was far too difficult. That just means I can't park my car facing down hill on a passenger side lean in the rain. I can live with that. The rest, I forced some thick wire down them & eventually unclogged them, 25 years worth of gunky sludge came out, I hosed down the drains till water was flowing freely & was nice and clear.. should be good for another 20 years now :)

I also installed my tow bar & bolted on the bumper properly, it used to only be held on with a couple screws. Before doing that, I cut up a old car mat & zip tied it to around the exhaust part of it. This should silence the annoying exhaust rattle hopefully :)

also got my power folding mirrors working, so the cars alarm is now fully functional again yay! Only electrical problem I have now is the pop-up lights don't work. I'm hoping it's just a faulty switch, cause troubleshooting them is the sucks. Anyway, it's raining right now, just what I was hoping for too! So in the morning I can check to see if the inside of the car is dry.. If it is, I can proceed with installing the rest of the interior (carpet, seats & such)
That's all for now lol.

Kill the person at imageshack who decided it would be a good idea to make their site automatically rotate my pics without my consent, and you can have some fogs :D

yay
you probably cant see in this photo, but the right side of the car is frame damaged underneath
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/62/img0173medium.jpg
the cross member is all bent & is quite a bit lower on the right side. that explains all the stress marks in the engine bay where the paint has flaked off.. and probably why the front bumper & right fender has troubles going on. i'll have to straighten that out before putting it on the road
Re: my daily driver project
andget a wheel alignment

Re: my daily driver project
Nice project!
It's funny how parts seem to be popping from nowhere hahaha.
Re: my daily driver project
Kid's got waaay too many extra cars sitting around his property.
Looking good man. I lol'd at the beater status sunroof repair. You know your car's a beater when you can't park it a certain way or water will get into it.

i made some moar progress today, it didnt rain all day for a change! but unfortunately i left my head liner in a puddle of water, so I couldn't get that installed today. i got most of the interior in though. i hosed out the car a bit first cause there was lots of gunky slime and stuff in there. all nice now

here there is a crease that goes up to the top of the car, i'm hoping thats as far as the damage goes. you can also see the shock is all bent, probably failed caster cause of the bent crossmember

Re: my daily driver project
the car sat out in the rain last night, and leaked, fail. must be from the windscreen. but i've already installed the head liner, and fucked if im doing that again.

the motor also got another nice rinse, i scrubbed the exhaust heat shield and that got rid of a lot of rust spots. makes a big difference
