1989 accord dx hatch with 29k miles need advice.
Bought a 1989 Accord Dx hatch that was made in Japan. It runs and drives great, curious about changing the timing belt. It only has 29000 miles, but it is a 1989 so I'm not sure what to do. I'd want to use oem parts if so, but cant find any availability. Any suggestions on brands or if i should even change it? Would hate to mess up such a gem. First Honda ive ever owned, and the first automatic ive ever owned. I saw it and just had to buy it. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Any brand will do really but you should be able to buy one thru a Honda dealer I would think.

I wouldn't hesitate to put any USA or Japan made timing belt on it. No real need to go OEM on this part unlike other Hondas where its critical.

You can buy good name brand timing kits anywhere like rockauto. Gates is probably the most common kit. 0 reason to go oem here, this is literally off the shelf parts, a name brand will probably use the same nsk bearings or whatever
