!!Carburettor Help needed
Hi peeps my 1980 Honda accord died out on me carburettor issues, it has a keihin carb, i cant find any company who does a rebuild kit for it, any suggestions would be appreciated im even willing to replace it but i was told theirs no replacement option.
Re: !!Carburettor Help needed
The Redline/Webber kit is a simple and reliable replacement. Search ebay or google. Always plenty available. Just be sure to get the right kit with the adapter for the CVCC engine.
Rock Auto lists a carb rebuild kit here: More Information for STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS 1296B
But if you rebuild be aware that these things are an absolute bear to tune properly. With luck the problem is just a torn o-ring or two, or maybe a sunk "float". Either could be fixed without disturbing the original adjustments. Float is not included in the rebuild kit but is also listed at Rock Auto.
I have seen entire rebuilt CVCC (Keihin) carbs for sale here and there, including ebay, but if you search this site you will find a lot of issues people have had with rebuilds not being properly tuned.
Re: !!Carburettor Help needed
Thank your reply, but my car is not a CVCC its a european version as i live in UK.
Re: !!Carburettor Help needed
Oh. Um. Never mind. Good luck. So is it a 2-barrel?
Re: !!Carburettor Help needed
Don't plan on it being much easier. The Keihins are notorious for being nightmares.
Re: !!Carburettor Help needed
Couple months later.... I wouldnt bother with the nightmare of that carb. Replace with a Weber 32/36 and kiss all your issues goodbye.
