Delayed choke and uneven idle

I have an 87 accord lx that I bought about 4 months ago. Ever since i bought it, the choke has been really delayed. In the morning I'll start it and the choke doesn't open until 3-5 minutes after I start it. A few days ago, the distributer rotor spun on the shaft, and threw it out of time. Ever since then it's idle has been very uneven (not sure if it's directly related or not). It'll idle at about 1,000 rpms for 5-10 seconds then drop to about 400-500 rpms and either die or jump back up to 1,000 after a few seconds. It's in time and has the rotor off my parts car (cap is different). The choke doesn't concern me as much as the idle. Any advice helps. Thanks in advance
