Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Hey another update. Today i managed to install the amp wiring kits and the heater boxes and climate control. It plugged straight in. fucking minter. Alex started porting the A18A head to make it more EFI friendly and i ran another battery flat. Tomorrow i should be ablew to put the dash in and have the interior in. But i still have to install the alarm which will take ages cause i have to remove it out of the other car. Should be okay, Hell it mght even be driveable tomorrow. Wish me luck haha

I see scratches on the head, how is the gasket going to seal? Looks good otherwise.

red wire goes to the left and a black to the right. yellow does the moving piece that slides along the coil. The fuel light wire is the same.
the coil on the stock fuel sender measures at around 150ohms so you cant use that you will have to rewrap it and the moving slider on the stock sender is grounded so you will have to change that. I took some photos. I dont wanna play with the sender too mjuch in fear of damaging it since its so precise and precios and the only one in the damn world!!!
Alex was just talking to me and said that the one from a 2g lude may be an option as there are a few of them here with the electronic navigator, which is pretty much the same. I woinder if they are the same.. any ideas?
Thanks a bunch for taking your time to remove it again! I think this is going to help me out alot! I had also suspected that this would be how they were constructed. Now I know better where to start so thanks a lot.
The 2g ludes with digital dash also uses a special 5 wire fuel level unit, but I think they are just as rare?
The section for the fuel reserve light on your unit looks different from the regular unit though?
Btw, on the digital dash control unit there's a big and a small connector. Is anything connected to your small connector, and if so, do you know what it is?

Thanks for the input! I looked at a wiring diagram and they do actually both have 5 wires and a sort of variable resistor inside. I could possibly use some of the internals of the unit if they share the same coil resistance. Here's a 4th gen lude unit: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ll/2007023.jpg
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
i dont think you have to worry about the fuel light thing. Its different cause the sensor for it is in a tank so the light doesnt flash on and off as much with accelleration and cornering.
What plug do you mean? On the back of my dash there are 2 yellow plugs 2 ones that plug into the dahs itself and the one that does the lighting. i dont really know what any of them do tho.

Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Oh i see, well make sure to clean out the ports as i see metal shavings on the valves.
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Yupyup that photo was taken half way thru grinding it. blowing each of them out with teh compressor when we are done. 2 more to go alex is slacking.
I just went and got some supplies to make the car driveable.
Brake pads, Fluid and a foglight bulb.
Currently im installing the aalrm...
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
lol i have the exact same brake fluid, that looks like 9 litres less than you were planning on getting?
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
dont use that silverline stuff dude.
its absolute rubbish!
use bendex metalkings or mintye semi metallics.
you'll turn those silverline things to smoke real fast if you like late braking.
the fluid aint much better.
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
yeah i know its crap. i asked my mate at appco to get me the cheapest of cheap. limited budget so budget stuff.lol It will do for now tho. hell they are only rear brake pads
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Oh you did a rear disk swap as well?

No I'm talking about the triangular shaped control unit for the digi dash, located by the glovebox. There's 2 connectors on it. I'm only using the large one and have no idea what the wires on the small connector is for??
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
DAM i just installed the dash. so i cant look. i have a feeling the fuel sender wires go into the smaller plug tho. have no idea what the rest do......

True. I got new rotors, pads, brake lines, fluid, and rebuilt the calipers when i did my swap. Anyways got it running yet?
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
[Got most of the interior in now. dash is wired up and working.
I even installed some rear retractable seat belts since all JDM models dont come with them.
Motor does noit run yet cause slack arse alex hasnt finished porting the head.

Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
interior starting to look good dude! good work
put some of those silverline pads in my bros sentra, bedded them in round dunedin
and gave them a workout on wy back to invers.
they started to smoke after 3 or 4 hard stops.
not cool.
trw by lucas are not much better despite what the repco or appco guys will tell you.
cool news, got my 20v 4age quad throttles organised last night.
should be here in a week or two.
have two crank angle sensors off an rs legacy and the 4 coils from same.
no more dizzy when i build a good motor
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
looking good man... the F1 interior looks fresh... next time you might want to wash your hands though since you have greese smuges on half the interior parts now LOLOL
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
Lol yeah its going to get dirty anyway. The interior needs a damn good clean. its covered in too much dust from beng in storage. But its day will come
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
okay i finished porting the head myself. put it all together and http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=tlz7uZ1uXHs
Re: AccordB20A's Vigor Update Thread
show us photos of your port job lol
