Making some nice progress. I'll probably be done with the left arch this week!

This is one of the giant patches I made. It consists of 4 patches in total.


All the insides welded up. I also ground all it nice and smooth and painted it with epoxy primer.




While i was waiting for the primer to cure I started to take out the carpet. I know I had a rust hole in the floor so I needed to look into that. And I got me a nice surprise!

Its fucked!



I was hoping i would catch a break for once but nooooo. Atleast all the other floors look good. I'll just remove the sound deadening and put some new silent coat on.

Sorry, just really happy to be done with this.
I spent all day yesterday welding and griding the last bits on the arch and now it's more or less done.

I realise that is not done in this pic, but whatever


I also finally bought new tires for the new summer wheels.

Slowly getting there.

I tried something new for me, lead filling!
We had a bunch of lead rods laying around so i figuered I would give it a go. And it went really good!
Lead has the advantage of adhearing to the metal very good (well, if I did it correctly that is ) and not absorbing moisture like ordinary (polyerster?) filler.

Crappy photo, as usual, but you get the idea. I'll try to get some better pictures of it later



Then I got working on the floor. Man oh man it's bad. But nothing a little sheet metal and a zzzzapp with the ol' Esab cant fix


Look at that. Just need to make that last one at the front and paint it.



Now, i'll go and cough up the lead in my lungs, see ya!

Right lads. I have a ton of pictures to show

I got the floors all primered, painted and sound insulated with Silent Coat. I have started to get all the the interior bits back in place. I just have the seats and the plasics in the boot left.



I decided that I want to drive this car before winter comes. Which means I'm not going to be replacing the right side wheel arch.
However, it looks like shite so it's getting the ol' bondo repair.

First, a small splash of epoxy primer



Filled and sanded smooth



Yeah, good enough. I think it will look pretty decent after a good polish.



And the brackets for the bumper was looking sad. It got a date with the sandblaster and the cutting wheel.



That's better.

The rear bumper was at some piont in time resprayed. And who ever did it did a crapp job. The paint has runs, crackling, faded, scratched etc. I'm lucky enough to be able to buy color matched spraycans in the town next over. It's cheap but pretty okey for the price.





The molding for the rear fog lights need some paint aswell.




I did this really quickly last night. I got some orange peal but it's an impovement.





I want to do this the "right way" later on. I have a spraygun I badly want to try. I really want to repaint the front bumper, the hatch, and left rear quarter panel and make the car look as good as it deserves.
