Looks great. I was considering the stock car look myself.

Might help complete the picture a little better. Think all of these were taken at Sebring this year and last

Can't do a whole lot with the engine. I run in SCCA and they are real strict on what you can/can't do. Intake is custom modified, exhaust is custom. I've added MSD ignition and a Crank Scraper. Pretty much stock after that.
Essentially you can't mess with anything beyond stock clearance from the Honda Service manual. Intent is to level the playing field so GTI's, Mustangs, Volvo's, Porsches, BMW, Dodge, Fiats, Mazdaa, Nissans etc all have close to the same HP/Weight ratio.
Brakes and suspension are another issue

So what are you running for your brakes and suspension if you dont mind me asking?Originally Posted by dloper

Here is where i am looking to go with in in the paint. Not convinced on the colors yet, or the size of the big honda logo's but its a rough draft photoshop job anyway.

Thanks for the comp... Car is an 87, rules say i can update within a model so that opens up 86-89 lxi parts.
Front Brakes are upgraded to 89 lxi rotors and calipers, pads are carbotech (compound xp10). Cheap "stock" rotors in the Front, the pads are more expensive than the rotors, one or the other is going to start to go and i'd rather throw away cheap rotors than expensive pads.
Rear brakes are still drum (specs say you can't make a model) so since i'm lxi, its got to be drum. Stock crap shoes in the rear though. I burn through them about every 4 - 6 sessions depending upon the track. I have to keep replacing the rear wheel cylinders if I don't watch the shoes closely. shoes heat up, start to fall apart, metal on metal, temp goes right into the wheel cylinder and brakes go south. Not a lot of fun at 100+ mph going into turn 17 at sebring.
Super blue 700degree fluid, 89 lxi master cylinder, proportion valve on the floor.
Suspension is knoi yellow adjustable on all 4 corners. 600lbsprings in the front and 400lb in the rear. Custom rear sway, no sway in the front unless it starts to rain.
Rims are Kosei K1-ts, 9.3 lbs each so super lite. I've had really good luck with the Kumho v710's and have just stuck with them. Many competitors run hoosiers at twice the bills and I'm still beating them. so until someone else shows up an beats me on a regular basis on hoosiers i'm going to save the bucks and run on the Kumhos. Tire pressures are an issue with the Kumho's but i've got a good system worked out and won 4 out of my last 6 races on them. Kumho aslo gives you 'tire money' when you place 1-3rd.
you have one of the hottest hatches....man i bet it must be fun racing and betting other cars. keep up the good workOriginally Posted by dloper

Maybe this should go in 'off topic' but I wanted to make sure Hatch owners saw this!
I was surfing through some music videos on YouTube while on duty the other night and ended up watching Madonna's Erotica video. Low and behold she bends over the hood of a 3gee hatch near the end. Any car Madonna sees fit to bend over has to be sexy, so of course it has to be a 3gee hatch. (although, I'm sure it isn't the only car she has ever bent over, just the only one in a video)
I actually saw the thread you started before i got back to this one. Great picts, saved them to my hard drive to use as future reference. I wanna see yours when you get it finished. Also have questions related to how you're painting and what you're painting with (color brand). It's somthing I want to do soon once i finalize the design. Luv to do a photo shoot. keep up the good work!Originally Posted by lostforawhile

A buddy of mine used it to run the ARRC at Road Atlanta in 2006 and got 2nd while i ran it in the Pro-IT and Enduro Groups. Just turns out he's driving in GM pictOriginally Posted by speedpenguin

there are a lot more pictures on my homepage, link is above my signature, scroll down and click on the camera, thats the link to my image station albums. there are also some pics on the site itself. as far as paint I'm using nappa products, single stage. I could have used base clear, but it's a time constraint, plus this is a daily driver, and it's much eaisier to fix chips etc in a single stage. right now it's parked in the garage with major electrical problems,I'll fix it this weekend though. this was a project that both myself and my wife worked on,we tried not to use too much filler, mostly metal work. any questions, feel free to ask,you can eithier email me at [email protected],or if you want to ask me in one of the threads I started thats cool too.Originally Posted by dloper
