    Lightbulb Louder

I have the pacesetter cat back exhaust and i'm really low on money right now so I can't really just go out and buy a new muffler or ne thing. I was wondering if I gutted my cat, would it make it louder and could I expect ne gains from it?

Cause I want to make this exhuast louder and want to know if gutting the cat will do the trick :super:

well do you have the emission test?
if you don't, than go ahead and gut that sucker.
it should make a nice more deeper sound, but mostly it is your muffler that will make sound.

He asked about gains, cutting the muffler off isn't in that direction. Exhaust gas volocity fella's.

I was thinking about gutting the cat and and fitting a pipe in there so it would basically be a straight pipe w/ a cat over it.

    your thoughts? gains?

Leave the cat....when you do get funds the you could get a header. If you're looking for performance and you got no emissions to pass then by all means gut it.

i hollowed out my cat and the exhaust reeks now, there was a bit of sound difference, and some high end gains, but it seemed to slow the low end a bit. i have the cat that was on it still, ( i hollowed out one off another car ) and i'm thinking of putting it back on, but maybe its just my car's exhaust that stinks

Take the whole exhaust off from the header or exhaust manifold.
Then you will literally feel the power!!!

my car stinks too... i have a just a glass pack muffler and no cat or muffler. i think it will go away some after i put a real muffler on with some STENCH absorbing baffles and shit!
PLUS my exhaust manifold leaks and i smell like gas when i get out of the car... i love that my header is waitin to be put on, it will solve some probs. i am thinkin of cleanin the rust off the crack and gettin it welded...

Right I have a straight pipe, pacesetter headers, and straight pipe back exhaust with an Arospeed bomber series muffler.
