Are small wire clips on fuel injectors necessary?

I recently replaced one fuel injector on my 88 LX-i and I also replaced the seal, grommet, and o-ring on all injectors. This was my first time removing fuel injectors. In fiddling with the wire clips on them, I carelessly let two of them drop down somewhere on the back side of the engine. I could not find them. So, I just connected the wires to two injectors without the clip. This seems to be OK; I think the electrical connectors are highly unlikely to come off on those two injectors; gravity is on my side. But, thought I would still ask for opinions on this.

I think they would probably be fine for a little while but i would get a couple from the jy. Pretty much any 80s and 90s Hondas use the same little clips so they are very easy to find.

I would replace them myself, but you could try them undone for awhile. Just check them periodically to make sure they aren't working their way off. You might also be able to secure them with twist-ties or something too.

I had thought about twist-ties. I might try that. It seems like a more feasible solution than hunting junk yards, which I'm afraid could be quite time-consuming and perhaps unsuccessful.

I'm surprised to see these cannot be found on the Internet; my searching has been unsuccessful so far.

Search "Fuel Injector Clips" or "Fuel Injector Pigtails". They're OBD0 Injector Pigtails. All OBD0 Hondas use them.

Thanks for the tip on searching. I have been driving with no clips on two of the injectors and no problem so far. But, I might do some more searching. I'd like to find the little metal clips only and avoid buying the whole electrical connector, which is what is listed in the eBay listing you posted. I'm assuming the metal clips alone would be very cheap.

you could use two crimp clips. they sell them at auto stores. they're like 10/$3. the gold one are alittle more. I fixed one of my injectors like that once. worked like a charm.
