I'll bet every rubber part on the engine is dry rotted to crap as well as the brakes, those parts dont do well well when not driven

i find that with valve stem seals on engines that sit.

They probably glue themselves to the valve stems. First start, they rip open.

it wouldnt take much to upgrade one to the better car, at least you are starting with a good base, if you add all the factory parts, it would become the upgrade model
