Exclamation b18a engine in a dx accord HB

Ok...I found a b18a engine forsale for near 150 bucks. Runs, comes with tranny, and all wires and components. Just need tools to put in. My question is..Can it be done, how hard, how long would it take, and last but not least, What performance upgrade will i gain from my stock 2.0 to a b18a. Your gonna have to tell me what cars the engines come from because when i see b18c, or h22, ect. ect. I dont know what the hell it means If anyone has a chart with the names and makes of the engine and whatnot. send it my way please. Thx again.

B18A comes from a gen2 teg. In stock form I think its comperable to a stock LX-i motor (bit more hp a bit less torque). If my memory serves me right I believe there was a carb set up availble on this motor (not sure if it ever came to this country or if it even existed for that matter). That would save the trouble of converting to efi. If you want to shell out another $1000 or so you can get a dcoe conversion kit for it, again avoiding an efi conversion. Otherwise you'll have to do an efi swap and it will be just like any other b-series swap needing the place racing parts etc. Its not a vtec, making it friendly to carbs but lacking the high rpm power.

sounds like alot of time involved which i dont have Thx andy, so what do you think my best bet would be to go with for my 87 accord. I was wanting fuel injected only because i thought i could get my intake that way because from a carb, the breather doesnt hit up to any kind of intake. Thx for the help however bro

Umm, an EFI swap just to have an intake? Did I hear you right? Seems like an awful lot of work just for that.
