Hold on to it. Worth more than that...to a 3Geezer anyway.

Good bye to the 1989 DX Type R. Hello 2001 LX.
DX:
"Four wheels, four doors, and no frills."
Boys... it is done!!!
I'm going crazy. I'm going crazy... it's like a frickin' dream...
I drove it home, turned on the cruise control for the first time ever (in an accord)... relaxed back with the lower-back support (good lord that's nice), and rested my arm on the arm rest. If I drove with my knee, it felt like I was at home in a lounge chair. I can't believe it... it's too good.
The other guy that was going to buy it (but I beat him) also had a 89 accord, so I'm sure he knew the deal this was.
Stuff that needs fixed:
Front blinker bulbs are BOTH out. Not too good... anyone know where I can get these, and they are pretty easy to fix, right? These being out would also be the cause of the blinkers blinking twice as fast, right? Apparently the front right headlight only needed greased up... it went all the way up today, but the guy said to grease it more. I'm keeping them up for a while. The inside needs detailed BAD. I think the previous owner was a smoker... but oh well, you can't win all the battles.
The exhaust has a leak somewhere (he said the muff, but I'm not sure) so I will be getting a full 2.25" catback done in a couple months... I'm going to tell the people to make it as quiet as possible, and to do it as snug as possible, cuz this biz-snatch is getting SLAMMED! Courtesy of Jim's revalved Bilsteins (yes, they did go SOMEWHERE :P)
Other than that... just little things, too many to tell. I will tell with photos when I get my digicam back.
My plans:
Catback exhaust (quiet as possible), custom CAI (NO WAY! I can actually HAVE one of these now! :-O), Lowered (Jims Bilsteins, Konis in rear, Ground control coilovers all around), bigger wheels (unsure of size, would like 17's but I might settle for less), and then paint (I think I will go Maaco, but just do all the prep work myself, unless I can find a private party to do it).
I am thrilled to death, guys, you have no idea... I ROBBED this guy.
Just go walmart for the bulbs...and good to hear you got the SEi. Top of the line eh...
This thing kicks the living CRAP out of my '87 DX... and I paid $600 less for it too!!!![]()

Well... I think I found one thing wrong with it
I went and started it up (no pedal pump, WTF??) and it started up right away, Honda-style, so I was glad.
I went inside to let it warm up (About 5° out... brrrr!) and after a couple minutes I start hearing a "vroom, vroom" so I go out and it's revving up to 2000 rpms and then dropping down to 1000 and repeating, like someone was revving it up with their foot.
Naturally, I was pissed. So I put it in gear and went around the block and when I got back it was idling normally. I called the guy and he said that he just started it, let it run for a minute, then rev it up high and it would idle normally.
Anyone know what's up? Or should I start a thread in the technical section?
I would look at the thermovalve that is next to the tb, mine was stuck before. also the Idle being to high will cause that . just get a good tune up.
Yea that revving thing is the the electronic air control valve (EACV -- #8 in this picture http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...Y+%28PGM-FI%29 ). It's en EFI thing, nothing serious and it won't hurt anything (just annoying, heh). Mine did that several times a couple years ago, but then seemed to fix itself and hasn't done it since.![]()

Can someone please tell me when I said a single thing about a 5-speed swap?
I really wish people THOUGHT or READ before they posted stuff sometimes.

Congratulations on the new wheels. I've thought about trading my "luxury hatch" LX-i for one at times.
