    eibachs or dropzones

I have an 89 thats used as a daily driver by an andretti wanna be. It has tokico blues on all 4 corners with an eibach prokit. I have since picked up a set of coilovers off ebay. They are new in box but I dont know who makes them. They have red springs with gold perches and they use an allen head rather than spanner whrenches. Should I keep the eibach springs or use the supplied springs with the coilovers. It is a daily driver but it will soon have a b20aturbo in it. In case it matters or not. I dont know much about spring rates but I like it when it rides on rails. I am running 17x7.7 momo sports with 215 70zr40 falcon ziex 326 which are for sale in case anyone is looking(just the rubber).

I've never seen coilovers that use the same size of rear springs that our cars use, they all use 2 1/2" diameter springs front and back. Whereas stock accord (of any lowering spring) rear springs are 3" diameter Frankly since either the prokit or sportline's from eibach have strange low rear spring rates, I'd go with the coilovers. But keep in mind that your ride quality, if you haven't noticed it allready, will get allot worse with those tokico's and coilovers, you will have bounce and excess suspension movements. Was thier a brand name on the box they cam in? Take a picture of the springs the coilover use, I'd like to see if the springs are progessive or linear.

The coilovers that are in the link to ebay are the ones that I have. I realize that they arent the best quality. I cant tell the diffference in the look what type of spring it has and I dont know what the spring rates are.

Remember when you put those coilovers on you will need camber kits for the front if you go over the 1.5" drop. Also, your going to run into some headaches. You will you bounce all over creation when you put them on (remember it will take a few weeks for you to really notice this, or it did with me).

Also, The allen wrenches look to be what you tighten down to hold the sleeve of the coilover to the strut so it wont shake back and forth against the strut body... The problem is that the tokicos have high lips on them were the springs are made to sit. The spring perch itself on the rear tokicos curve upwards making it so you cant get an allen wrench in there to successfully tighten them up. If the allen heads are in the same place that mine are on my Weapon R's then you are going to do one thing.....make a custom allen wrench! Even then they SUCK because they work their way loose and tend to rattle if you live in rough roads. So pray that the tightening screw is higher then what mine are!

Have fun, going cheap on suspension stuff isnt the way to go! Its cheap for a reason. When that perch works its way loose, and the spring rubs on the perch so much that it demolishes the threads and you can no longer adjust them, dont say I didnt warn you first!

so just to clarify the reason that is bounces is because the spring rateds are too high for the blue tokicos making my suspension more like a direct bolt on. Is it because of mismatched equipment that doesnt really work together or what? When you say bounce all over hell, does that mean worse than me eibachs with tokicos? What if I swithce to HR struts or is there a better for what I am doing. Ive always been partial to eibachs so thats why I chose those. Whats the best spring to use??

If you want to stick with coilovers, than I guess Ground Controls are the way to go.
There are no HR struts, the best you can get are Konis.

I know that Ground Controls run Eibach springs, but are they special or just the same you could buy normally w/o coilovers?
