First K20 swapped 2g write up.

So I have been thinking of taking my new favorite honda and my favorite honda engine and putting them together. Building the first ever k20 swapped 2g accord. After researching and asking questions I have been told there aren't any or it can't be done, I don't like that for an answer. So I'm gonna make this thread so you all can keep in touch over the next few months, so far I have contacted driveshaft shop for custom axes and hybrid racing on custom mounts. Stay tuned on the progress.

It can be done, just takes alot of money and will cause alot of headaches. Do you already have the K? I would like to see it done; tho I would never take it on myself. Good luck w/ the build

Hey guys, my son was born last month, haven't had much time to update, I've been doing some body work on the accord, will be painting it soon, also getting the K20z1 from a buddy's rsx type S around January, I'll stay updating.

I also hit a deer and damaged the fender so it is off for the one being until I repair the damage and rust at the bottom for fender and rocket.

He said he was to aquire the powerplant in January, that WAS an update
I gotta say though if I had a RSX donar, and wanted a K swap 2gen sedan, I'd have to want it pretty bad.
This would be a cool swap but for the amount of work, my personal choice would be a 3 gen prelude, 2nd or 3rd gen Civic, 3 gen Accord hatch or 4th gen Accord Coupe.
Nothing against 2gen but I would rather do a B series or boosted A series swap in that. IMO those choices would stand out better in meets & shows...all just my selfish opinions
2g_cam don't lose that motivation, you will have a great giant killer !

K series parts are still too much to make a budget swap. Unless you just pick up a K24 from a 7th gen accord. they put out like 160hp and its a 2.4L so its going to have good torque for that 2nd gen chasis.

there is no such thing as "can't" do a swap, anything can be swapped into anything with enough time, money and know how

Unless it wont physicaly fit. some swaps are easier than others. Im glad I went with a B series because I have tons of aftermarket support.

Re: First K20 swapped 2g write up.

The k20Z1 from the RSX type S deal fell through, I have decided to just buy a swap, I'm now debating on type R k20a or k20a2 type S it's about $2500 difference for the swap alone, I will be purchasing the swap over the next few months and tearing the 2g down soon I will update you all as I go, I purchased a 2012 Genesis coupe 2.0T but broke the Trans at the drag strip so I lost interest in that and have decided to go through with the K20 2G plan, it will be a sleeper for sure, I'm hoping to get it done for $10,000 or less.

Re: First K20 swapped 2g write up.

I'd go with a K20 from a Base RSX and do a K24 head swap, you get more torque, don't have to run premium fuel, and you have the same aftermarket support as the typ-s RSX. The K20A3 is a very under appreciated motor IMO.
