A strut bar stiffens out the car, making it a little more responsive. For example, a front strut bar directly connects the top of the struts to each other, so there's hardly any flex, making it more responsive.

Strut tower bars go across the car strut to strut. They can be front upper, front lower, rear upper, or rear lower. They attach to the top of the strut tower (in the case of uppers) and function in preventing twisting of the frame during cornering.

does this help with cornering? I notice that my car leans a little in the curves.

It helps so much with cornering. When I first got my front top put on, I was speeding around corners like no other. It makes a huge difference. It's well worth the money. Some strut bars bend a little, you don't want that. Make sure you get one that doesnt bend what soever. They keep you low to the ground in a sense, hehe.

It won't bend that much, you just grab it after its put on and see how flexible it is. My DC one bends a tiny bit, but not a lot. Either way you'll be fine.

Check this thread out:Click Me! Also, 1987HondaAccord, if your looking for something to keep you from leaning in the turns, a thicker swaybar is much more effective. A strut bar makes the car more resposive, and corner a little better (because it flexes less), but the whole purpose of swaybars is to keep the car from leaning while turning.
