89 accord DX - intermittent prob with blinkers/hazards

This is very strange. One minute they work fine, then they burn solid the next few times I use the blinkers, then fine again. Hazards will only work on the left side, although my right blinkers work. Fuses good. I THINK I've replaced the flasher relay already (or was it on the 95 civic?). But would the relay present like this? Or just quit altogether? I don't remember... And of course, this happens mere hours before I leave on a 14-hr road trip. :/

get some contact cleaner, spray out the hazzard part of the switch, it's the one on top of the plastic surround around the steering wheel. the turn signals are routed through the hazzard switch, so if it acts up,so will your turn signals, the contacts get really dirty, all the dust and crap ends up in them

Thanks! But, after posting, I started thinking and realized the new relay was for the other car, so I got one and viola! I have blinky lights again!

glad it was simple, usually when they get like that, they will quit working but you can fix them by moving the switch a little,

dunno how the hell you think it was the hazard switch when the lights turned on but did not cycle.

don't know why the hell you have to get into every one of my threads, I didnt see the part about them not cycling, usually they just dont come on, and it's a simple matter of cleaning the crud out of that switch

It's still not a bad idea to clean up that combo switch. I was not having any issues, yet this is what I found when I did mine: https://www.3geez.com/forum/3geez-acc...h-rebuild.html

The how-to's are excellent and are here: https://www.3geez.com/forum/how/60916...mp-switch.html

    and here: https://www.3geez.com/forum/how/77873...g-rebuild.html

Glad you were able to get everything fixed.
