Angry my clutch might go out?

so my clutch engages pretty late, i have to let it out almost to the end of its normal state until it engages, so i have a lot of leeway kind of but its still got some force to push against. i told my mom about that and the next time i saw her (i live with dad and step-mom) she told me that her bf said that my clutch might go out, what can i do to fix it? i looked in my haynes manual and i think my problem is the "high pedal effort" maybe? i dont know someone plz help me, i dont want to lose my clutch, but if i do i will jsut go buy a performance clutch so, yeah. thx

you should adjust it ASAP! you are putting extra stress on your clutch when it is out of adjustment like that. it also could be slipping slightly (cable wont let the clutch engage fully) the cable is really out of adjustment

counter clockwise. It should NOT be hard to turn the nut, you have that thing way too tight.

there should be about 0.6 cm play in the release arm where it is connected to the cable

When you put your foot on the clutch lightly, you should feel very little resistance for about an inch, and then you should feel resistance from the cable. You can also test for free play by wiggling the cable at the arm for the throwout bearing on the transaxle.
