    why is my car so slow?

    i have an 89 LX... its carbed of course eveyrone knows that... its sooo slow, maybe cuz its only 98 hp, or maybe i need a tune up pretty bad, maybe its not worth getting headers full exhaust and stuff like that maybe i should wait until i come across a good LX-i for sale

    well my valves are way out of adjustment and my pcv hose is broken that will be done in a couple of hours so i'll see if its any faster.

    well ill tell you one thing your car will sound a lot smoother. that how i knew it was the valves. when i had that question. thats what the guys here told me and sure enogh thats what it was.
    ACT Stage 1, Short Ram Intake & 2.25 Dynomax custom catback w/4inch carbon fiber tip. Thats it for now.

    Stick with the car. You can make it pretty quick for not that much. And look good too. A tune up will help. But from my experience with 3geez, pull the head and rebuild it. The tops of the valves probably have crap all over them. The valve stem seals get old and brittle and leak oil down and it turns into a giant carbon deposit. I rebuilt 2 high milage heads and thats what I found. It may not be neccessarily the problem with your car. If your want crazy fast power though, maybe consider a swap.

    i just got a valve adjustment and a new pollution control valve, so my car sounds a lot better now, and i dont want to spend that much, it will take me too long to save up. after all i only work like 15 hours a week at a whopping $6.80 at Albertsons bagging peoples grocieries (im 17)

    I thought it was a Positive Crankcase Valve?
    2.25 Sprint drop w/ Bilstien struts in rear & Koni's in the front, moddified 94-97 Accord CAI, JDM power folding mirrors, Prelude A arms, Naxos exhaust, K&N Filter, Accel coil, Advanced timing, NGK-R plugs, 7.5mm wires, Apc H4 headlight conversion, PIAA hyper plasma bulbs every where, 17" Exel Maj rims wrapped in 205/40 17 Kumho tires, w/ 5% platinum tint, painted calipers & drums, shaved tail lights, moldings, antana, squirters, and emblems, Clarion DRB3675 head unit w/ Clarion 6x9s

    no all our cars are slow, i just drove my friends 91 se and we hit 140 with no problem with no tanks. my 95 lx is gonna be fast when im done with it but right now my 88 is faster cuz i dont have a battery in my 95.
