    Gas Cap Door Thingy

You know that little door thingy on the drivers side that you open so you can get to the gascap? yea... you know the one...

So anyway, i was at the gast station, bout to fill her up. I pulled the little lever thing to pop it open, and it was stuck. It had just snowed and it was frozen closed. So i decided to hit it. What a great idea.

It still didnt open, so i said 'fuck it' and waited till it thawed out.

When it thawed, i had to pry the thingy open and now it wont close. Arrrgh..

Can i get a new one, or is it fixable? Ill try to get a pic tonite

cut the door off. it'll look bad ass. if you don't want to do that, i would say it's fixable.

Cut the hinge and latch off the messed up one and use them to make a custom one out of different material! I think acrylic or CF fuel doors look dope but like every other part, no one makes them to fit the 3g.

Just bend the little latch thingy until it closes right. I had to have that recall on my gas filler neck, and the dealer screwed up my gas door. That thing they put on there for the recall misaligns the gas door. It took me about 6 months to get mine right

    gas door thingy

There was a recall on the gas filler necks, some of the ones from up north were rusting through causing the neck to seperate from car body. Check with your dealer there was also a recall on the seatbelts. This one if f u you can't get your seatbelt replaced unless it fails. even though it's recalled. check witth the dealer to be sure I think my dealer was full of bs

Yes!! there needs to be a post on this. What was happening was that the release button was coming apart from uv light, and pieces of it would fall into the release mech. making it not work right. The dealer has to fix this under federal law, and make sure they replace them all.
