    SEI computer

Hey Ive heard by a few people that its a little known fact that the 89 Accord SE-i has 5 extra hp due to the engine computer. I got one myself and it has different part numbers on it than the LX-i computer from the 88-89 accord. I dont really notice that much of a difference with it vs the LX-i computer, has anybody else experimented with it?

Carotdude, i did not find any visible difference in the camshaft when i took it apart. They both look more or like the same.

nate, why would he be an idiot to think so ? it is not uncommon for an up-graded model to have more power than the lower or base model. I have a 2002 protege5 with a 2.0 with 130 hp, same model year same 2.0 engine mp3 protege 135-140 hp, just because of the ecu's power curve. I also had a '91 accord ex and a '91 sei had more power. so i dont think he was being an idiot at all, just asking a reasonable question.

I don't think the cam is different. It's an lx-i engine I believe. HOWEVER, I do remember hearing that the 4g EX's had larger ports on the intake manifold and they gave like 5 extra horses for that. I think the 3g just had the carb'd and FI engines-- no "hopped" up stuff for the se-i. I miss my se-i...

The whole speech was going good and well until you said "91 Sei"

nope, nope, nope.......... you can drop the "i" because that means fuel injected and we all know that the 90 and up accord all are fuel injected. But I agree with the rest of your speech!

Are you saying there was no 91 SE-i cuz SE-i's just don't exist for the 4g? Or are you saying that there were no 91 SE's? Cuz if it is the latter, then I'm sorry to inform you that you are incorrect.
