How to make your own Cold Air Intake

This thread has been moved from the FAQ

Team DelSol has the best description. No need to buy an expensive intake with that.

Yes, you just need to measure the pipe to fit, like anything else. It's all custom, except the pipe itself. You buy that from JC Whitney.

Hey 88 lxi, is there an advantage to having that small breather/filter coming off your valve cover? I have seen it done that way and with it connected to the intake.

Ya i have to agree that those are the best plans i have seem for a CAI period. :p Greg, i dont think that putting an intake on will effect emissions. if anything it might make them better becasue your engine can breathe now have you ever seen the intake holes on stock airbox? they are as big as O <---(actual size!!!!! ) i dont know how our engines have run off that little air. anywho Does anyone know of a national chain that you can get the pipping from instead of ordering from JCW?

get the aluminized because I dont think the ceramic paint will stick to stainless steel.

Will it work for my 87 Accord LX-i, I think it would by taking of that black plastic tube and air filter, but I want to know for sure before I go and screw up my motor. Thanx
