The word "conversion" would have been useful in the title, too.

    Headlight codes and Part Numbers

Photos of the headlight codes and part numbers. Reference Daniel Sterns site for how to interpret the code and function on the lens:

Re: 1982-3 Honda Accord JDM/European Grille, Headlights etc

All of the parts for headlights were really difficult to find. The whole process has taken a few years. I have a couple leads right now for the headlights and I would be open to spares at this rate. Gravity never fails!

I recently replaced all of the valve guide seals and noticed a lot wear on the exhaust rocker arm on cylinder 4. I bought the last rocker arm for cylinder 4 from Honda. They had 1 CVCC pre-combustion chamber left. I did find Rock Auto has the Rocker Arms but under the wrong heading. They were under intake with a different part number. The CVCC parts are getting rare.

I also have a 1975 Civic CVCC I am restoring. I think I found the last 2 NOS strut tops left on the planet. It's amazing how scarce the parts are for the Civics. Try to find OEM struts. At least they are a slew of general parts left in inventory for the 2nd gen Accords and great prices most of the time.

Hats off to you. I didn't have the patience or finances, frankly, to search out the rare NOS stuff. I went to the junkyard and refurbished a bunch of OOS stuff (LOL). That worked out better for some things than others. It's nice to see some serious restorers on the site now.

Sorry to hear about that head lamp housing. Definitely an excellent aesthetic, aerodynamic and safety upgrade.

Does any car made prior to 1990 have perfectly aimed head lamps anymore? I doubt it would matter

Mine are pretty good. I usually wait for a foggy night to adjust them. It's so much easier to see where the beam is going in those conditions.

Disassembled JDM/EDM headlight bodies ready for new lenses. Heat the entire body at 250F and the lens easily separated from the gray plastic container.

    Lots of parts

    Individual body

Broken/Repaired Horizontal adjustment clip. Hoping that the replacement assemblies have an unbroken clip.

Re: 1982-3 Honda Accord JDM/European Grille, Headlights etc

I finally got all of the parts and pieces together. First, a huge thank you to Turan6 for all of his getting the headlight assemblies a.nd console Here's a series of the picture with the EDM/JDM headlights installed. It's hard to believe these weren't allowed in the US. They look great and functionally are amazing.

Headlight assemblies were made by Stanley, Bosch, and an aftermarket company TYC. The ones installed were from Bosch. They have the mechanism for allowing the driver to raise and lower the aim of the headlights. That could be a future project. The conversion took new headlight assemblies, turn signals, grille, grille badge, and stainless steel grille trim pieces. They are a direct swap with the USDM parts.

No modification has to be done to any of the electrical connectors, headlight assemblies mounts. or turn signals

The daylight running lights(DRL) are switched by an ACDelco F553 Professional Daytime Running Light Relay(available from lots of sources). The relay has a green inductor wire that wraps around the coil wire and activates the light relay when the engine is running. I picked up portions of wiring harnesses from another 1983 Honda Accord so all of the connectors for the DRLs are like the original Honda electrical connectors. U-Pull and Pay here in Colorado are a great resource for donor parts.

I used a ceramic H4 Connector (on Ebay search for H4 9003 Heavy Duty Ceramic Plug Wiring Harness Sockets Headlights Fog Lights) as a jumper between the original wiring harness and the H4 bulb. The wiring is opposite on the H4 lights and I didn't want to cut up the original wiring harness. I swapped the high beam wires with the low on the jumper so everything works normally. It allows the lights to be switched back to the USDM lights without having to modify anything(plug and play).

    Installed!

    Side view. Love the aerodynamics!

    Ceramic headlight jumper.

DRL relay located under main fuse shelf. Green wire on coil wire switches DRL relay on.

Damn, that is hot! Good work on the conversion... I know this was a number of months ago... but this is the car that was at JCCS last year, no?

Same car and we should be back again this year to JCCS. I've really done quite a few improvements since last year and hope to have the EDM/JDM console in the car for the show.

JCCS was a treat last year and I am looking forward to returning.

Perfect work ! If you took off rear side-cat-eye than no one would say : - its not european version.
I hope my sentence is meaningful
    I'm glad I could help!
(Do not forget that you are also helping me a lot of the fuel filler pipe.)
Good luck in the center console too!
