The car had been sitting in a junk yard for 3 years and it took almost nothing to get it to run. The starter was the only thing that put up a fight. As soon as it ran i began to strip everything i possibly could out of it.

Soon after we discovered that the automatic was junk. Who wants an automatic race car anyways? Bought an a20a1 with a 5spd and just used that engine because it had allot higher compression than the old A3 with 222,000 miles on it. Pictures will tell the rest.

Pulled the heads off both engines and put the whole A3 head and intake combo on the A1 block. I don't know why we didn't just swap the manifolds but oh well haha
Stripped down the old A3 and later discovered there was absolutely nothing left of the bearings in the bottom end anyways.

Got it all put back together and in the car.

Then we had it sent off to have the roll cage built. When i finally got the car back it had a new home

I crapped my pants on the last one lol i forgot i removed the hood latch to put the hood pins on. The hood flew up at like 60 mph

First race is on April 19! First full season with the car and we are going for the championship. I'm so ready for it!
I think the automatic is just fine on the dirt circle, keeps you from breaking loose lol I can see how a manual would be fun and easier on the car during yellow flags.
Looking good and lookng forward to hearing about racedays good and bad

Finally got all my gauges hooked up and working. Now i just need to wire the lights for them. Had to get creative to find a place for the coolant temp sensor lol.
