Hello everyone, I have a 83 accord with 1.8 liter ek1. Im thinking about swapping the ek1 out with something that has a efi system(im sick of dealing with all the vaccum lines). What is the best engine a can fit into my car with the least problems and money?? and what parts will i need to do the full swap?? Parts list would be awesome.
Keep your engine you have now and do the Weber 36/38 swap. You should be able to do it for around $400 and be left with only one vacuum line for the vacuum advance. Just did this on my 86 cord and have no vac lines left but the vac advance and the one to the cruse control. That's just me though and it's your car, just thought i'ed toss the idea out there.

Maybe in the DC Washington it is but not this one. I'm only 3 hours away from Seattle and he's only about 2 hours from me. So the Weber swap would be doable with no worries. The Weber I put on my 86 is the same one I had on a first Gen civic way back in high school. I miss that car but her heart lives on to give new live to another, I never knew just how addicting these cars could be lol

Thanks for all of your input, Ill forsure do the weber carb if i keep this engine. Do you know of any other mods that could improve horsepower?? Trying to get this car ready to run the moutains.
Also, Would anyone know of any conversion i could do on my suspension and braking??
I think a full engine swap from what you have now to an a20 would be the easiest of all if you do decide to do a swap. As for mods I'm kinda new to Honda's myself and don't know of any but then again I don't need 300hp to drive the kids to and from school lol
Yeah ill just keep researching until i know enough. Then i can make a educated decision on what i shall do.
Look up sei rear disc swap, and coilovers, and legend_master had some posts for polyurethane bushings as well.
If you do the discs, the proportioning valve isn't really a must... I didn't do it since I couldn't find a new one
