By the way..its an automatic

Unless your tensioner came loose for some reason, the belt usually doesn't skip meaning it doesn't need adjusting. If it's hesitating or you feel a loss of power, you may need a tune up (plugs, wires, rotor and cap, fuel filter, etc).

or if you really want to adjust the timeing go to the store an pick up a timing gun an then after your done usin it take it back lol :lol

there are to timing settings to be set !:
cam , crank timing > which must be set by the timing belt and usually doesn't get changes by it self unless you have a bad belt or a bad tensioner .
Ignition timing > which is set by turning the distributer clock or anticlock wise to advance or retard timing and you have to have a timing light for this one which is a pretty easy job !

well i know its the timing belt because the RPMs go flying up and wont change gear. plus....every other time this happend when the car belonged to my grandfather---it was the belt.

If the car's rpm's fly up and won't change gear, it's a tranny problem. Good chance it's a maladjusted throttle cable or non-Honda ATF.
