    htf do you remove the CV joint to get on a new boot? URGENT

    the title says it all..

    we have ambers car 90% done with everything, but we had to replace one of the CV boots, we cut the old one off, but now we cannot get the joint off to put on the new boot!

    HALLLLLP~~~~>>>!!!!!

    pls reply with some advice, can you pop it off with a hammer or what?

    n/m soon after we posted this we figured it out! thanks anyway...

    The joint cannot be removed. Do not attempt to remove the joint, you can severely damaged the joint, which will require a new axle.

    Buy a new aftermarket axle and install it. It's the fastest, cheapest alternative.

    we removed the inner joint.. your right the outer one does not come off..

    how much would this axle cost aftermarket if we did damage it?

    CV joints are like $65 after you bring back the core.

    i replaced the whole axle when the outer boot ripped. That was fun
