    spring length...4" vs 6" vs 8"

the 90-97 skunk2 kit has four 8" 8kg/mm springs (about 440lb/inch), the rear setup allows the drop range I was looking for, but when fully adjusted down the front drop is less than I want by about 1" to 1 1/2". I need to get a 6" or 4". Skunk2 sells a 6" 8kg/mm , landrum has a 4" 400lb/inch, hypercoil has a 4" 400lb/inch. I've got enough sleeve adjustment to use any of them but I'm wondering about the differences between a 4" and 6" coil. Ground Control has a 6" 450lb/inch. Another factor is that I've got 440lb/inch on the rear. Looking for advice. Thanks.

holy shit doug, what are you running for shocks with that setup? So what model did you use that Skunk2 c/o set from? Are they a direct bolt in? I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm intregued by your post.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm completly understanding you. What you're saying is that even at full "drop" adjustment, you're not as low as you want to be, and that's the reason for the shorter sprign inquiry? Just want to clear it up for the ones that might know the answer.

I did some research and found that the coils that are with the 90-97 accord skunk2 kit are 10kg/mm or about 550lb/inch. They are the 800-250-010's. Due to the length and spring rate the fronts are not as low as i'd like, it looks like the front went down about an inch or so, here is a before and after,

What I'm gonna try next is a 6" 8kg/mm skunk2 on the front, that
will have it at 440 front 550 rear, oversteer city. oh yeah, Konis
front Tokico blues rear, surprisingly stable.

If getting revalved sturts is not part of the program, your not going to truely benefit in a positive way from those spring rates. I would not get the 4" springs, they go from their unloaded stiffness to max stiffness much faster than a 6" spring.

How much lowering do you plan to dial in?

I know a way you could get 4 revalved Bilstein's for about the price of 4 standard Koni special's. But only one person can have such a deal. You are the perfect canidate for it.

I'd like to get about 1/2" to 1" more in the front, rear is OK.
as the car sits now the travel of the strut rod is quite short.
I'll need to find a way to increase it. The local junk yard won't
sell me the strut upper mount bases seperate from the assembly,
so I'm thinking of getting two for each year from the dealer and
work something out. The bilsteins are a possibility, how do I find out more?

Remove the welded on brake hanger's and let the strut sink into the pinch fork, that will give you 1/2" extra lowering and equal shortning the body/rod travel a 1/2". Or you can grind the height of the pinch fork clamping body to be flush with the pinch fork bolt. That would be good for 1/2 inch as well.

When do you think you would buy the revalved Bilstien's?
