Does a receiver drier have a sight glass on it?

I finally got my receiver/drier for my 84. The fittings are opposed 180 degrees, so I think I got the right one for my compressor (Nippondenso). There isn't a sight glass on top though. Does the filter have to have the sight glass? Did I get a blem. or am I good to go?

no it doesn't need a sight glass.

You may try your favorite auto parts place and have them order a bunch and pick one out that the fittings are correct for you.

I looked at about 5 before i found one that the spacing was correct for my car with out really forcing the hard lines to reach it.
