My new project 86 accord DX, automatic

My new to me but old 86 accord. It's a DX, automatic, has the (BS) a20 I believe and 150,xxx ish on it. Not a bad deal for $300

As of now it just had the Weber carb put on but more to come. Saving money for a K-Sport coilover kit

Lmao, very nice, you've already got a weber, that's like a $400 item you don't have to deal with, right there =)

Yep, it's the Weber I had on a first gen civic when I was in high school. Just had to buy a new plate set for the 86 cord.

The interior is in real good shape and not one crack in the dash even. It's a bit on the dirty side but nothing a little tlc can't fix. The previous owner used it as a "get to work car" and never once cleaned it not to mention only one oil change in 2 1/2 years. I work with him and he told me a bout every little problem the car has. Gave him $300 cash and only seen the car come and go from work hadn't even sat in it or looked under the hood. Sometimes when you love something ya just know lol

Re: My new project 86 accord DX, automatic

The accord is dead! The rebuilt 32/36 Weber is not wanting to work anymore. Took it apart re cleaned it, made sure everything was ok and it worked again for about a week. Then said... screw this, I'm out! So now I'm without a 3G till I can fix it. Not to worry tho... My NEW Original European 38/38 Weber will be here in four days, just in time for the weekend... Can't wait I'll try to remember ta take some pictures of the install but for sure will have some after it's done. Or it didn't happen

Re: My new project 86 accord DX, automatic

The 38/38 Weber and other parts haven't came in yet, so I removed the mani to work on it and started some non needed electrical component/wire removal. Going to fix the oil filter base plate oil leak while the mani is off and a new o-ring for the water pipe.

You carbs guys should take a look at Vapor blasting.

There is a guy here at work redoes old motorcycles. he showed me one of the 2 carbs he did it was like day and night difference. He claims there is no damage to the material.

Just watched a video where they blasted a piston. Thing looked brand new after, thanks for the tip. Maybe that could save the 32/36 but this was a good excuse to get the 38 lol

If you're trying to fix a leak, be sure to do a real good visual inspection of that pipe before installing. Over time, the pipe gets eaten away and a new o-ring doesn't help. I think I finally fixed my leak after smearing RTV all over everything. I can tell you that it's a lot harder to fix the leaks after you've put the whole engine back together.

    Doh.

Well not what I'd like to be showing but this weekend I was cut off. I did manage to save the body/bumper from any damage yet the tire kissed the curb
