    Proportioning valve

Hey All, I understand this topic has probably been beat like the perverbial "Dead Horse", however, I still need some help. I have an '86 Accord LXi that has a leaking proportioning valve. It's leaking out the hole in the center of the valve body. I believe there's supposed to be a rubber plug there. I've tried to find the part and even my local dealer has told me they no longer make it. Should I try to find a plug that will fit the "weep hole" or try to find a replacement? If replacement, any ideas where to start? The car is stock, no mods. Great shape body wise, just need it to stop every now and then. Thanks in advance for your time.

Are you talking about the valve beneath the master cylinder?

That's the non pressure side of the valve. If it's leaking, you'll have to replace the valve. The inner seals are shot.

    Re: Proportioning valve

from what i remember the seal inside goes bad. you will have to find another prop valve from the 86-87 accord. on my 89 lxi it came with a 40/30 and when i went se-i set up i used a 40/40 from the se-i. Im sure you could run a integra or civic one if you cant find a oem one.

What year Integra or Civic could I use as a replacement? Sorry it's been so long. To many irons in the fire.

    Re: Proportioning valve

its not really a replace as they sit different then stock so youll have to rebend some lines a bit to make them work

    Re: Proportioning valve

Will a valve from a 90's vintage Accord work? Same setup it looks like just mounting is different. I'm willing to rebend lines if needed, just gotta find out what will work. Also wondering if mine is a 35/30 or 40/40, and if I switch to a higher rating, what issues may come up?

    Re: Proportioning valve

My valve is leaking too. From what I can tell, they don't make these new anymore, so you'd have to buy a used one. Which is every bit as old as the one you're replacing. That doesn't fill me with confidence. Is anyone using an adjustable aftermarket valve around here? Any recommendations?

It's 100% custom but you can try one of these Wilwood High Performance Disc Brakes

I thought about the Wilwood products, just not sure how to hook them up with all 6 lines.
